Is her hurt that he's not being offered any deals? Or was hurt previously? I like the signing, i don't see signs why he fell off so fast, so why can't he get it back?
The last time I paid attention to Josh Childress, he was leading Stanford to a near undefeated season. I like to think of him as a utility player. He's not really good at one thing, but he has slight talent here and there. He can score, but he's not really that good at it. He can defend, but nothing more than above average. He can rebound some, but not really that amazing. He's athletic, but not a top NBA athlete. Really, he's just a body. I really hope for us he's just the kind of guy that can possibly change the pace for us every other game. Maybe he'll get some dunks on the break playing with Deron, play some key defense in critical possessions, and that's really all we can expect at the price we're paying him. If he can move well off the ball and get some easy layups off of screens and cuts, then it'd be a success.
Marshon is still the first swingman off the bench. CJ's the first guard off the bench (who can also play with Deron in a two PG line up--Deron most likely would assume off guard duties). Bogans and Childress would be fighting for back up SF minutes, which will be spotty given that Gerald, Joe, and Marshon will be heading up a lot of it, especially in the playoffs.
He's solid insurance if we suffer injuries though.
