Default If the Lakers play the Heat in the finals...

Do you think Howard will outplay Kobe in the finals?

I would say yes. Howard should outplay Kobe. Kobe might score more points, but that's all. More points on way more attempts though. Stick Lebron on Kobe and it's a done deal. Stick......Bosh? on Howard? Nationally televised raping.

Miami has no one who can guard Dwight. Bosh certainly won't last long at the center spot against him. The Heat won't have the opportunity to play small ball like they did 95% of these last Finals. They will need to have Joel Anthony out there in a 2 big set a lot more. On paper it doesn't look good for Miami, but that's why they play the games.

The problem for the Heat is that the only thing that could stop them (other than a huge choke from Lebron and the 11 Mavericks) is a dominant big who can get the ball on the post and score consistently.

I said before the Dwight trade even happened that the Heat should have been pursuing more help for their frontcourt. Instead they just seemed to pickup more three point shooting threats. But it's going to be interesting how Miami responds when going from guarding three perimeter threats in OKC to 2 outside, 2 inside for the Lakers.

Howard should lead the Lakers in scoring, unless Kobe goes into legacy protection mode, and takes a million shots. Bosh can't guard Dwight one on one, but Dwight will be out near the three point line guarding Bosh so his rebounding will suffer.

EASILY for D12.

Finals MVP, too.

Considering the matchups, absolutely. I think kobe is much more concerned about #6 as opposed to being finals MVP. He would gladly feed dwight in the post all series long

Dwight averaged what 19 and 18 vs Miami last year...he will be a handful no doubt for them in a series.

If I'm the Heat, I honestly might just let Dwight get his and focus on stopping Kobe, Gasol, Nash. No one the Heat is going to shut down Dwight anyways. The Hawks in 2011 beat the Magic by letting D12 get his and shutting down the Magic's shooters IIRC. Obviously, D12 has much better teammates now, but the Lakers still have fairly poor 3PT shooting. Rebounding is a concern, though, hard to keep D12 off the boards. Hack-a-dwight in 4th quarters for sure too.

People are overrating Dwight. He isn't just some guy you can feed in the post and say: "Okay go to work". He has to be set up. Miami has one of the fastest, quickest and most active defenses in the league. They are set up to disrupt your game plan. Dwight Howard is not ****ing Hakeem Olajuwon who they can just dump the ball into and say go ahead and dominate Bosh or Joel Anthony or whoever the hell might be playing center. He'll get his points, but not as a primary scoring option. Kobe will lead the team in scoring on low efficiency like Paul Pierce did in 08 and get the MVP when Kevin Garnett deserved it, but in this case it will be Dwight Howard who deserved it this time IF the Lakers go to the finals and win it all. Kobe can average 25ppg on 40% shooting but have made some heroic game winning shot in game 3 while Dwight dominated the entire series defensively, on the boards, and averaged say 16-18ppg and they'll give the MVP to Kobe...why? Because people and the media only care about scoring and highlights.

That's true, but remember Dwight put up 23 PPG in 2011, he can score pretty well. The area Dwight scares me most if I'm the Heat is rebounding though, he'll get the Lakers a shitload of second chance points.
