how is Calais not consistent?...and his tackle numbers are higher than all of those others, which does suggest he is just as good if not better against the run...

It just isn't really possible to be poor against the run and have a ton of tackles...esp for d-line

There are many times a player plays great run defense but doesn't get the tackle.

I agree 100%

I am saying there are NO times when a d-lineman gets a ton of tackles and is poor at run defense

That's probably true. If a d-lineman gets 10 tackles like Campbell did, he 99.9 percent for sure didn't have a poor game vs. the run and you don't have to watch the game to know that.

I'm not talking about Campbell's game last week. He was great in all aspects. He's just as likely to have a game like that next week as he is to be average at best vs. the run though, which is what I am saying when it comes to comparing to the other guys.

Look no further than the week prior vs. The Seahawks. I actually saw that game on Rewind and Campbell wasn't really impacting on run defense. Dockett was the clear cut best DLineman that day.

I'm not saying Campbell is a bad run defender either. He's very good, just not dominant week in and week out like those other 3.

Seattle might actually have one of the best o-lines in the NFL...Ware and the Cowboys couldn't do shit to Russell Wilson, he had all day long

I am betting it was more of that then Calias being bad, because Calais was consistently good last year

Updated.

JJ Watt is slowly turning into my favorite defensive player to watch.

Watt is amazing. A 3-4 end with 7.5 sacks in 4 games? Extremely impressive. I wonder what the sack record is for a 3-4 end? Wiki states Bruce Smith was a 3-4 end most of his career, so 19 sacks by Bruce Smith?

The next best 3-4 defensive end for sacks is his teammate, Antonio Smith, who is tied with the likes of Ngata and Campbell I believe with 2.

Who is also a top 5-7 3-4 defensive end. Underrated as hell.
