Eli did his job extremely well, which is all you can ask of a quarterback, win or lose.
But it takes a full team effort to win a superbowl. Without the defense playing great, their is no 2nd ring for Eli - and without Eli playing the way he did, the other 52 men and coaches are not superbowl champions either.
See, I've said this before, and I knew people would do this....reflecting on this past Giants win and using the Giants rank as far as their defense goes (25th or whatever it was) as a way to "up" Eli Manning.
Here's the bottom line. That defense stepped the **** up in the playoffs. Without them there is no title. They destroyed Atlanta, made life hell for the Packers, one of the best offenses ever....then held Brady and company in check to the tune of 17 points when they were scoring 30+ regularly.
It's a team sport. Take a look at Eli Manning play sometime, take a look at Rodgers play sometime, take a look at Brady.....they are sitting on the bench for half the game having no impact on the game whatsoever.
You can pretty much replace "Eli" with "Peyton" and "Giants" with "Colts" when describing the 1 year the Colts won the Super Bowl.
What the hell are you watching that you see bad luck in that video? The large majority of that video shows poor footwork, poor ball placement, or failure to make reads.

He got unlucky because a high number of his INT's were tipped by his own guys, or wideouts not doing the right thing, like allowing the corner to cross your face and get an INT on a slant and not even fighting for position. Huge no-no.
I'm just saying his high INT total that year wasn't a true reflection. He probably should have been in the 16-18 range, not the 25 or 26 range he was in.
I'm not saying 16-18 range is good either. I don't think anyone was praising Eli is 2010 as some top 5 quarterback....but his INT total was highly inflated, bottom line.

His INT Total in that year (i don't know others) was inflated. I've seen stats that showed that. Note: He threw a lot of bad balls, but he did have bad luck. It was a running joke that Giant receivers made an effort for some stupid reason to bat balls up in the air.
He has high INT numbers every year...even last year
hell he already has 3 this year
The response to throwing the interception is as important if not more important than throwing the interception itself.
You can throw an interception or even 3, but that doesn't have to determine the result of the game. If you respond the way Eli did in that game or hell even the way Romo responded in the first game against the Giants then throwing the interception isn't as bad as you make it out to be.
Throwing an interception and not being able to come back from it is terrible. That's something young and immature QB's struggle with. Eli and Romo are not young or immature at this point and shouldn't let picks bring their play down.
And I mean you know you didn't think Alex Smith was a better QB then Eli Manning last season so stop trying to front with interceptions.
what modern day/current great QBs through a lot of INTs?
What modern day/current QB do we question if he's any good when he was won 2 Super Bowl MVP's and had spectacular stats in both runs, drove the team down the field at the end of the game in both of them?
Eli is easily a top 5 QB, people need to get over it. If you say, no he's 6 or 7 fine. If you want to argue below that then people need to get over it, because that's not fair, there is a checklist you need to have to be a great QB, and Eli has checkmarks all over.
THe great thing about your arguments is not only will you not give Eli his due, you want to give Romo MORE credit.
