I like his game a lot. This kid looks cagey. He could be our version of Kukoc/Dirk; a big man with a three point shot that can put the ball on the floor. A nice weapon to have with Rose.

Thats exactly what I think. But only if he bulks up. Because he kind of somewhat looks like a tweener to me. But he has that Power Forward post up game to match his shooting and handles. So I'm hoping in the next 2-3 years before he comes over he really works on getting stronger, while not taking away his athleticism. Because to me he looks like a solid athlete.

There are so many "tweeners" out here now that doesn't really matter anymore, lol
I think he'll be fine, everyone said Asik would need to bulk up but it wasn't like he came over here all skin and bones.
We need that shot/offense. Our rebounding should be fine for the foreseeable future.

I know I just hate tweeners. Because they have the body of one and the skillset of the other now. It's unlike the Odom, Darius Miles days lol. When they at least could play both regardless or could play one really effectively despite the lack of height or something. But the more I study basketball, the more I find myself being an old school type of guy.
I thought Asik was perfect, he could use more muscle, but only if he develops his post game more.Or in this case at all. I just think he'll need more muscle for protection. Euroleague post rules are harder than ours anyways, which is so stupid but that's different.
Totally agree about needing that shot and offense. Dude can definitely score and in a variety of ways. Love his game the more I watch it.
I've been following his game since last year. He is a very high IQ player with polished offensive skills. He needs to gain some muscle, and rebound & run the floor better.
I hope he's not going to be like Fran Vasquez, who would have been successful playing in the NBA, but chose the comfort of staying in Spain.
They were saying it could take us three years to bring him over, but I hope they convince him and figure out his contract next year. We could really use his outside shooting.
The Chicago Bulls traded for Nikola Mirotic in the 2011 draft, and after two strong stateside appearances with his Real Madrid club, the 21-year-old seems to be worth the wait.
The Toronto Raptors on Monday hosted European powerhouse Real Madrid in a game broadcast live on NBA TV. It not only was a chance to see what former Bulls player John Lucas III looked like in a different uniform, but also to see if Bulls prospect Nikola Mirotic was as good as advertised.
Last Saturday, Real Madrid took on the Memphis Grizzlies and Mirotic played so well that Zach Randolph came away impressed and Sam Smith gave him a glowing review after a 14-point, seven-rebound performance.
Against the Raptors on Monday, Mirotic put up a stat line of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Even though he somewhat struggled with his shooting (5-13 from the field), it’s clear why the Bulls traded for him in the 2011 draft. The kid can play.
Mirotic is an athletic 6-10, 210-pound player who moves well laterally and can run the floor. He’s not a stiff by any means. He can handle the ball and has a very good outside shot. If you’re looking for a comparison, in today’s NBA, he’s a smaller, better version of Raptors center Andrea Bargnani with more athleticism.
He played okay. Had a really really good first half against the CRaptors, then completely disappeared aside from a 75 second span in the second half when he hit a shot, and knocked away a couple passes.
