Coach Terry Stotts may bring entertaining form of bball
Stotts has promised to bring an entertaining brand of basketball, featuring offensive freedom, three-point shooting, ball movement and creativity. For years, the Blazers have been one of the NBA’s slowest and most deliberate teams, and even though they also were among the most successful teams, Stotts’ pledge is no doubt music to fans’ ears.
But how will it all work? And what will it all look like? Stotts has a wealth of capable shooters at his disposal — from Batum to Matthews to Lillard to Luke Babbitt — and he has a bona fide All-Star in LaMarcus Aldridge. He also has versatility and athleticism in Batum, who is primed for a larger role. But the Blazers lack depth, particularly in the wake of Elliot Williams’ season-ending Achilles tendon injury, and will be one of the NBA’s youngest teams.
