Default Slender

Any of you play this game?

I just saw a video of this dude playing it and I'm wondering if it's as intense as many make it out to be.

I would play, but I hate 1st person games.

Well you ruined it a bit by watching someone else play it. But even knowing what's coming, even playing a few times it is pretty intense.

Once you pick up enough notes it is near impossible to not fail. And knowing that puts you on edge since you really want to complete it. Plus it's an interesting thing to watch others play because some just give up and spin around.

Anyway, I recommend you play it still. But man you should have not seen it. It was so cool the first play through.

To be honest chances are high that I would've never played it, not much of a gamer, specially a 1st person game.

But I enjoyed watching the reactions and was wondering if they were warranted.

Each time after the very first I tried it I got to at least 5 notes. But the thing is unless you plan everything out perfectly you HAVE to turn around a little bit to pick up a note.

So the anticipation gets really really high. It doesn't have to be a spooky anticipation for it to be scary, and for me it was not. What got my heart pumping, and what just about every single movie and game seems to have forgotten how to do, is every moment outside of what was supposed to scare me was scary. Not knowing if he'd be around the corner, not knowing if he was behind me, not knowing if when I come around this tree to get the note it'll be game over.

I think if nothing else it's a great example of what makes horror games good. Because lets be honest, horror as of late has gone to shit in gaming. This game is really simple, really basic, you only have a few available commands, yet it outstrips many AAA titles as far as pacing and effect.
