You don't think a bad-ass rim hang of that magnitude should be taken into account at all? Durant didn't even touch the rim.

Things I like about Gibson's dunk:
-He went straight up off of his vertical.
-He cocked it back with the extension.
-He got hit in the face.
-He hung on the rim with one arm like a boss.
Things I like about Durant's dunk:
-Gortat is big.
-Lots of body contact/got fouled.
-Took off from the dotted line.

In terms of difficulty of the poster, it's Taj, dunking on someone off the vert is really tough. The hesitation dribble was nice by durant, overall to me a more smooth move and finish. Off first glance I would've gone with Durant, but Taj had the more difficult and powerful poster, the rim was just the cherry on top.

He just adjusted his arm to dunk, but it wasn't like he dunked ON someone. More like around someone. And if he didn't hammer it with his arm, it would have been an average dunk

He did dunk AROUND Tolliver, but leaping entirely off his vertical, With a full arm extension before hanging with one hand made it unique and different to Durant's poster on Gortat who barely got up.
Gortat did'nt attempt to block Durant's dunk, he was just stuck in the wrong place at the wrong time. On the other hand Gibson took one step and exploded entirely off his vertical on Anthony Tolliver who jumped with him (Hence the arm extension) BUT while Tolliver was going down, Gibson was only reaching the apex of his dunk, Posterizing someone off your standing vertical is no easy feat.

There’s a laundry list of things I like about the dunk that Kevin Durant sent home over the top of Marcin Gortat last night. First of all, I like that Gortat is seven feet tall, 240 pounds. That’s a big damn Pole to be smashing on with such authority. In addition, I like that Durant took off from the dotted line, that he drew enough body contact to warrant a whistle, and that this dunk and the ensuing free throw accounted for his 39th, 40th, and 41st points of the game. That’s what I’d call one hell of an exclamation point!
Taj Gibson’s dunk on Anthony Tolliver, though… there’s a soccer mom’s grocery list of reasons why I like that.
The way he goes straight up off of his vertical. The pendulum-like motion of his hammer-bearing arm, and the way it drops with the force of mighty Thor. The helplessness of Anthony Tolliver, who so often seems to become caught up in these disastrous situations. The commentary of Stacey King, whose lamenting of Nate Robinson’s heat check so quickly turns to sheer jubilation. And of course, that rim hang. With only his sleeve-bearing arm, Taj swung like the king of the jungle. We are not worthy, your swagness!
