Default New Showtime series Homeland

Starring Damien Lewis from BoB fame, personal friend of Lamar Doom:

And Claire Danes

I watched the first two episodes just now and I am very intrigued. It reminds me of Rubicon from AMC. It got a 91 on Metacritic, 8.7 on IMDB for those interested.

That dude came on a show called "life." i watched the last episodes of the series before it got cancelled (damn you nbc!) and it was great. Guy is an amazing actor and should be headlining movies because of his talent. if i had showtime id definitely would have dvr'd but i dont so i guess ill have to wait. Hope it succeeds...

Watched the first two eps. Impressive cast, but I just can't buy the character Danes is playing. No way a bi-polar chick gets past an entry interview with the CIA, let alone becomes a high-level agent.

I thought that too but it doesn't bother me. I think It's more serious then bi-polar, though. She was taking anti-psychotic meds.

You can easily download it if you really wanted to. Or you can watch the first episode on the Showtime website, here's a direct link.

I only started watching this because of Dexter, and what do you know I'm hooked on this as well. Gotta love Showtime's none-commercial break.

The schedule's always the same right? Dexter at 9 and this at 10?

This easily one of the better shows on TV. Its at least top 5 IMHO. It guides you into one direction then bam it twist repeatedly.

IT IS MUST SE TV.

This last episode was crazy.

Do not cheat yourselves watch this show from the beginning or it wont have the same meaning.

The writing has tightened up since the first couple eps, glad I stuck with the show. It's like 24 and Sleeper Cell had a baby.

I watched the 1st ep and liked it. It's filmed in Charlotte so part of the appeal for me was recognizing places (Freedom Park, the bar at the Ritz Carlton, etc). Great cast. I'm glad it got picked up for a 2nd season.

Is it as boring and slow paced as Rubicon?

I saw the pilot and thought that was enough for me. I tried to give it another go with the 2nd episode, but was bored outta my mind.

The writing seemed solid but some of the dialogue was forced for my liking. Great visuals, but I don't watch a show simply for that shit, i wanna be entertained and a show like that better keep me intrigued. They seemed like they tried too hard at being a smart show (yeah... there can be such a thing), but even then fell into a few cliches....
