At his best he was a more gifted actual basketball talent than probably more than half of those players in that list.... and he was an innovator of the sport (specifically passing/dribbling), one of the most creative offensive players ever and maybe the most creative ever considering what type of moves/plays/drills he inflicted into the type of era where being creative that way was "disrespectful or stupid" or considered unnecessary, he proved why it is effective, he opened the doors and then came the likes of Magic Johnson and proved it even further how effective it is, all the nifty passing/dribbling (and including basketball drills) you see came thanks to the likes of him and Bob Cousy, he had a very aesthetic/meaningful legacy... screw you for disrespecting the Pistol this far down the list...

If TMac isn't in yet, neither should Maravich. Maravich never went past the first round as a star, and never had a season comparable to the great Orlando seasons from TMac.

Though you appear to have a different definition of "greatness", that incorporates things like name recognition and historical relevance, which is why you rate Miller and Maravich pretty highly. I can understand that way of looking at it.

Dennis Johnson should be over both, IMO (not a vote). I agree with you with T-Mac view point, I view it exactly like that too and would have him over Pete because he was a better performer in the playoffs compared to Pete, regardless of not making it past the first round... that is the context I look at.

People aren't going to vote for Gasol, so i'll put Pistol Pete in this spot ... maybe a little high, but i don't give a damn.
