Default Brooklyn Nets Pre-season Discussion

Nets played 3 pre-season games so far against Philly, Wizards and the Celtics.
Nets are 3-0 So far (Pre-season)

A lot of things to discuss, i'll start off with the home crowd against the Wizards, It felt like a regular season atmosphere. Nearly a sell out.

Brook Lopez is looking great, he is rebounding and is playing defense. His Offense is a sure thing, no one is worried about that aspect of his game. But as-long as he is aggressive, I dont see why he cant be a 9 RPG player. There is no excuse this year.

Andray Blatche- He is playing amazingly, he came to camp in shape, and is looking great out there.

Mirza Teletovic-Very hard to point out so far, we dont know what to expect with him, though he can knock it down from deep and can be an offensive weapon, will his game translate in the NBA?

Toko Shengelia- Is someone who I have had my eye on, he played good in the Summer League, and had some nice drives to the basket against the Celtics including an and 1 Clutch play in the Final minute to give his team the lead.

Im not sure if I want Childress backing up Crash, He is an over-rated defender, an is limited on offense. Much rather have Toko and Bogans backing up Wallace

Keep in mind it is only pre-season and I know that but it is still good to get a look at some things.

Thoughts so far?

I only watched the game last night against the Wizards, glad we beat the C's tonight with most their starters playing big minutes.

The people that have impressed me the most so far are Brook and Blatche. I kept saying in recent posts that I'm concerned over his foot (still kinda am) but so far so good, looks like he really worked hard this off season. He put on some muscle and his touch looks to be in top shape.

I was skeptical in having Andray Blatche as our back up center, I wanted a traditional center, but Andray has proven he can be the backup to Brook. So far he's been crashing the glass and scoring on putbacks, exactly what we need when Brook isn't on the floor. My only complaint is he sometimes forces the issue instead of passing it out to reset the play. I'm confident he will learn as time goes on.

Mirza Teletovic so far has been decent at best but I give him a pass as he's still learning the NBA game. I'd like to see him take it in the paint more instead of launching deep 3's (though he can make them). We need him and MarShon to be the spark off our bench when our starters are out.

Overall I am VERY pleased with our team. The starters look ready and the bench looks fantastic. I can't wait for the season to start!

Yeah, he looks like he can play SF lol, thought he was a SG/PG type. But anyway the bench was heavily underrated, Blatche for Sixth man of the year?

just for fun i looked up their basketball heights (with sneaks) on draft express. they had pre-draft measurements for everyone but crash. DE is the most accurate site i know of for height and a bunch of other stuff, which is why i looked there first. crash is officially listed at 6'7" by the NBA.

deron williams- 6'2.75"
joe johnson- 6'8.25"
kris humphries- 6'9.5"
brook lopez- 7.0.5"

Very disappointing game against the Celtics, and I know it is pre-season, but it was very sloppy.

The offensive spacing was just plain bad. Defense needs to be worked on badly.
