Re: how did Blake Griffin become one of the most hated players
He's not one of the most hated players. Get real.
People on this board dislike him, fans of other teams dislike him. He's a polarizing sports personality, just like Kobe, Shaq, Rodman; love them or hate them, but you've got to respect their performance on the court.
Cue the chorus of disapproval... but it's true. He might flop, he might complain, whatever... but the kid's in his second year and tearing up the league with pure athleticism alone.
In conclusion, you're a Lakers fan. You should know the answer to this already since you have the king of polarizing basketball players on your team.

I actually think a part of it is that his game has not elevated from what he did last year. The hype coming into this year was pretty up there, especially with CP3 coming to the team. I think if he was putting up monster numbers nightly that the backlash wouldn't be so great.

The YouTube anything is what I'm talking about. You're using something that can easily be swayed in one direction by a particular group of motivated people to gauge the level of hate towards a player.
At the end of the day, I'm not even a big Griffin guy. I think the superstar calls are out of control right now, but if you're into any of the top marquee teams or players, your team has likely benefited from them at some point. It's always happening and always will happen.
The kid is a ridiculous athlete and is gravitating towards improving his jumper and defense. As a fan of the game, I enjoy watching him play.
