I just remember him pushing around Bynum and Howard quite easily. He even handled Shaq pretty well a few times. He was ridiculously strong. Wasn't he putting up some pretty impressive numbers in the time he was given?
Based on the way the game is played, and the limited touches centers are given now, I don't doubt he could have been a 20/15 player in this era; which is extremely impressive.
I c a head on collision with Howard and Bynum at the top for best C in the L. Oden is 7'0 and 250 pounds and was known for the boards and D like Howard. I would have envisioned him working on his offensive more and improving there. But like Howard, he could have rebounded and dunked his way to 18-20 points a night. Howard is a more freakish athlete, but Oden was a beast and it wouldn't have surprised me at all if he ended up better than Howard when it was all said and done.
I actually viewed him as being possibly a better scoring version of Mutombo. So that would make him arguably the best defending and rebounding big man in the game who is also an average to decent scorer (definitely not a scoring liability).
