This was during a stretch where he had 10 triple doubles in 11 games and missed having 11 straight by 3 rebounds.

40% of his total amount of career triple doubles came during those 10 games lol, he should have maybe played PG more often...

Check out the one-handed save at 14:04 - amazing! Notice that it bounces out of his hand and he then grabs and palms it instantly from underneath the ball and has full control to pull it back and pass it. Massive and strong hands.

After 10 triple doubles in a row he missed one in his 11th with 3 rebounds, then he continued again with 3 more triple doubles in a row... two were 40-47 point triple doubles... even though Bulls lost 6 in a row there its still crazy...

He had 16 triple doubles that year.... 16 of his career 28... lol, he should have definitely played PG more... or maybe not considering the Bulls were more successful later when he didnt dominate the ball so much..

His teammates missed a number of wide open easy shots. These aren't 3pt shots, these are shots in the paint that are usually automatic for them.

He was getting double teamed almost every possession, but only a few of the assists came off those double teams.

And finally but more importantly was his DEFENSE. He was all over the place, didn't take a play off defensively. The ball moves far more than today, so it's also harder on your stamina. He doesn't just stay camping out in one spot, he's putting pressure on the ball, double teaming, switching, fighting through screens far more than players do today. Did anybody keep a tally on the amount of blocks, strips and steals he had?

And this is basically how he played for the most part. I didn't get the feeling at any point that he passed on scoring opportunities to get assists (at least not blatantly).

Where's the world class athleticism? His head doesn't even get near the rim one time when he jumps. David Lee jumps higher. Sorry I just don't see what all the hype is about when people talk about MJ's athleticism, based on this game Jordan is way overrated as an athlete and I'm not sure he coould play today cause he's just playing unathletic white guys. Not impressed.

(I'm using the poster known as Sundizz logic here)

No, they were more successful later because Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant emerge, and Jordan finally had adequate help to win a championship. He still averaged 11+ APG in his first Finals and 8.4 APG throughout the entire playoff run.

He actually already had Scottie Pippen & Horace Grant since 1987.... the true success (90s) didnt happen until he transitioned into more of a team player so to speak... did you read "Jordan Rules"? You will see what i mean.... but ofcourse, his teammates got better with years aswell and those nasty Celtics/Lakers ceasing to exist helped very much also...

I know he wasn't as ball dominant. He wasn't playing PG and he had a different coach in '91. That wasn't my point.

Jordan plays so hard. It's exhausting to watch. (I'm getting old because a younger me wouldn't have said that.)

I was reading a little bit about his 10 triple doubles in 11 games streak in The Jordan Rules the other day. It's an incredible run no matter how you slice it, but it was interesting to read how Jordan would check with the scorers table during breaks in the action to check his stats and see what he needed to earn another triple dip. The book stated this went on until the league noticed and made the table relent from sharing statistics with players mid-game.
