Default NBA to limit pre-game time.

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/85...0-second-clock

I guess there are pros and cons to this.

Long-ass rituals are stupid.
Also I'd hope that this would limit the friendly hugging and kissing before the game

Players should be more fierce and serious towards each other, imo... ala 80s 90s.

Not sure how I feel on this one. On one hand, the pre-game rituals and such aren't really necessary. On the other hand, some of these pre-game antics add some character and entertainment to the atmosphere.

And the teams can circumvent this by just agreeing to both take delay of game warnings, or even both take technicals. How will the league like it when every game starts with both teams taking free-throws?

then the league will start issuing fines and that would stop it.

can't fade the league.

I don't like the rule. It would be better if they made timeouts just 1 minute long like they are supposed to be. Right now every timeout lasts 3-5 minutes instead of 1 minute.
But of course they won't cut that because the commercials bring them profit.
