Marvin was the only flawless male vocalist IMO.

1. Amazing depth to his lyrics.
2. Golden voice very few if any could touch.
3. Just as good live if not better than in the studio.
4. Longevity at the top.
5. Number of all time great songs.


Dude is seriously the Jordan of music. Nobody has all 5 of those things combined to the level Marvin did.

Obviously anytime you say "The best" it's an opinion but tell me another male vocalist at the top in every area I mentioned.

Luther didn't have the body of work but i always thought that he had a better singing voice.

Mavin Gaye has better songs tho.
