Default So LeBron changed his number to 6 to honor Jordan...

Thinking that it was disrespectful or something for another player to wear 23....Why not pick a number that Hasn't been used by a HOF player?

Russell? Dr.J? 6

LOL.

Lebron didn't change his number to honor Jordan , he did it to sell more jerseys.

It's disrespectful to say you're changing your name to honor 1 guy and then change your number to one that has worn by many other greats.

He did it to sell jersey's, simple & plain.

And if you want a good conspiracy to ponder, Lebron announced his number change during the 10 season, the next season he obviously went to miami, where the # 23 is retired..

His first child was born on October 6th, 2004. Hence LeBron honors his firstborn child with #6.

More like if you wanted a terrible conspiracy to ponder..... he could have just changed it when he went to Miami. Filing for change of number only adds to the truth that he was heavily considering staying in Cleveland in his final season, which ends other dumb conspiracies as well.

New team new number. Same reason Kobe changed numbers. He was fully planning on changing teams. It's not the honor thing since he should have realized the new number was taken. It's also not for jersey sales since all jersey sales are split evenly among players and teams.

He's 28 years old. You think he started watching the game in 2000? When he was 15 and already a beast in his freshman year of HS?

Try ages 4, 5 or 6 when he started watching ... which would've allowed him to see MJ dominate the sport for the duration of the 90s, and his youth ... when he would be hero worshipping and patterning his game off the best player in the sport.

He entered the league the same season as the last year of the Shaq / Kobe Laker dynasty. You can't be serious?

what does growing up watching jordan have to do with him knowing who bill russell is?

he was a poor dumb thug in the hood raised by a crack head prostitute so no doubt he probably had no access to the internet like a regular 15 year old at the time.

i'm almost positive lebron didnt know who bill russell was until they named the finals mvp trophy after him...

i mean... who picks #6 because michael wore #23... russell is arguably above jordan all time depending on what you value most

that right there is a dead give away lebrons a jackass
