Default Pistons waive former lottery picks Flynn and Twill

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap...rence_Williams

You guys think they'll play in the NBA this season? Europe? China? Could favorite your team use them?

I've always like Twill and loved what he brought to the kings, but unless the Lakers want him to be a pg, which he cant be, theres really no spot for him on that team this season.

Unfortunately for both Flynn and Williams, they were behind the 8-Ball from the start in Detroit. As many of you know, the Pistons already had 15 players signed to their roster, so for either guy to make the squad, the Pistons would have had to trade one of their other players away. I assume Williams and Flynn knew that from the start and figured they could just as well be auditioning for other teams, though there were times this pre-season where it appeared as if Flynn barely cared, making terrible passing decisions then relenting to get back on defense. It wasn't something I expected to see from someone fighting for their basketball life.

Though it was pretty limited, I feel williams showed what he can offer a team during his time in Sacramento. Going into the off season, I thought there was no chance he wouldnt have been resigned there. I guess the acquisition of james johnson really negated his value to the team.

Williams' Detroit News reported statline from the pre-season: 2.5 points, 4 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 blocks.

I'm still trying to figure out how he averaged as many blocks as points. Has to be a misprint, right?

He also got Motiejunas with Flynn, and didn't part with much (Brad Miller and 2013 pick).
He then traded Flynn/Thabeet for Camby.

He traded a protected second round pick for Williams in what was a reasonable deal at the time, given his talent.

We'll be seeing Waiters' name in similar fashion to Flynn a couple of years from now.

This is easy. Sign Twill and play Meeks at PG. Twill as the primary ball handler on the 2nd unit and let him loose.
