If you wanted this off the board, why did you respond to it when it had been over an hour since its last reply and was already falling off of the first few pages.

Here's a side question for you guys. I thought of creating a new thread but two Tiger Woods threads on the front page of ISH is a little excessive.

Me and my buddy got into a long debate over this one last night. Who is more dominant to their sport today?

Federer or Woods

Explain. I'll tell you who I picked after.

it's fairly close to equal, federer wins at a higher percentage but there are more top golfers than there are top tennis players, federer is absolute dominance of his sport nobody can come close really, there may only be 3 or 4 people close to his game, but this is how tennis has always been 4 or 5 guys in the world that are well ahead of the rest. but tiger has more people to compete against so his dominance comes a little harder because there may be 10 guys in the world that are close to his game.

I don't think I'll get response coming out of this thread, or maybe nobody cares.
I wonder if I should start my own thread on this topic.....

i think most people (Like me) dont know enough/ dont care about tennis, so they cannot compare Federer to Woods. I would say Woods, but i know almost nothing about Federer

Federer or Woods.. wow, cool subject...

I am going to pick Tiger Woods... and I will tell you why.

He came out from amateur status and immediately became dominating in his sport. That was not enough for him, so what did he do? He changed his swing... dramatically. And it screwed up his game enough that people questioned if he would ever be back. And, he found his new swing and he's back even stronger than ever. The guy has dominated and intimidated for so long.

Federer, on the other hand, while great at tennis, has not been around nearly as long as Tiger and has not maintained his dominance that long. He is very intimidating at this point in his career, but can he keep it up for so long?

Also, if we were to look at it from the perspective of which one has had a greater impact on their sport, its Tiger Woods, hands down.

I am curious to know others thoughts here. The above is my opinion and I am open to other thoughts.

Regardless of who's better, at least one of them should have been SI's Sportsman of the Year (not Wade)
