Default Quick Question?!

I want to play basketball for the school, but I have a job as well and I volunteer. So I either will have to decided between keeping my job and volunteering, or choosing basketball. I'm not that amazing, and I don't see me going to college for basketball or anything, so what would be a better decision? I mean work experience and hundreds of volunteer hours is going to look better on a college application than basketball.

High school work experience doesn't mean shit. More importantly basketball is very fun and work isn't.

I played my whole life up until I quit after my sophomore year in HS. The message I received from coaches was pretty much that down the line you'd wish you continued instead of quitting just to make some extra change. I can't say I've regretted it much, but if I could go back I'd continue playing. How much do you like playing? If your hearts not in it then maybe you should let it go

Basketball isn't that important to me. Like I don't have that energy and passion in me to WANT to go hard and do my best. I'd rather focus entirely on school and put my effort into my job.

If you won't make it to the pros of course school is more important if you think you have a chance fckc school, it isn't harder than that.

Then I'd say do what you feel is best. Having an income is always a plus and you shouldn't not make money to play basketball if you're not that passionate about it. I will say that my reason for quitting was to "focus more on school", but I'm pretty sure my grades didn't improve.

Well I'm a sophomore in High School, and I maintained a 3.8 GPA last year. I always have high standerized test scores, and take several accelerated classes. I just want to make sure I keep my GPA above 3.6 and work, while doing volunteering and other clubs.

My class valedictorian played throughout his senior year. May not mean anything and I'm not sure if he had a job as well, just thought I'd throw that in there. He's going to A&M

Just read your other posts. Don't fret over either one. They won't mean shit. Just do whatever you feel like doing.
