Melo and Amare cannot co-exist with one another. They are better when one or the other is out, not when they are both out there together.

With that being said, the Heat gave the Knicks the win today. Heat played terrible defense and showed no energy/care what so ever.

To those who say Miami let NY win...how often does the team shot 19-36 for three ?

Knicks got hot, grabbed a big lead early. Miami tried to come back but the Knicks were able to sustain them and then it looked like the Heat gave up.

Miami did look slightly more disinterested than usual but the Knicks were really playing hard and hitting their shots.

When a team shoots 19-36 for three there's not much you can do about it.

Without Stoudemire, without shumpert and without Camby, two starters and an important rotation player.

No it doesn't. With Amare in this gives them a pick and roll option to take the pressure off Melo.

The problem is Amare gives up more on defense than he produces on offense.

Have there been any net negative players who've made as much money as Amare?

I'm not a believer in NY at all but to say the Heat let them win is taking away deserved credit. Miami wants records like 73 wins and 8 rings. James wants several MVPs. They didn't have their best game but we seem to have forgotten that teams have ups and downs over 82 games.

New York played and looked great. That said, Miami or any other team in the league isn't looking for 73 wins. You'd spend yourself in the regular season trying to match that record and come out flat in the playoffs. Not worth it.

Stat is a Knick player so obviously he sucks, like Zach was a joke and now is a great player despite posting the exact numbers he did with the Knicks.

Amare Stoudemire is an all-star player period! He had the bad luck of being coached by the worst coach in the NBA for like 8 years, teached him nothing about defense, and was always spoon fed by Nash and had the space to operate that no other player in the NBA had, it was Amare in the paint and the other 4 players behind the 4 point line, yes 4 point line, that's how much space he had. I remember D'Antoni publicly bashing Fields because he attacked the basket! Hes was messing Amare spacing

So yes when you have a horrible coach for 8 years that teach you nothing and caters to you, you gonna be a flawed player.

The good news is despite his age, this means Amare still can improve his game, the bad news is he can't get healthy lately.

Said this, he needs to come from the bench and slowly build his way to the starting five.

Melo looked like a good leader last night. That's a good sign for NY fans. Heat played very poorly. They just didn't seem to be as aggressive as usual.

Hate to say it but Amare is quickly turning into the worst contract in the league sucks for Knicks fans because him and Melo with Felton have huge potential.

It's a bad idea for a team based on older stars like LA or Boston but Miami's stars are in their prime. James will end up averaging 40 minutes and MIA is going to win 65+. It's not a huge stretch for him/them to target something historic, whether or not they reach it.

I wouldn't say that, but the Knicks absolutely played with more energy and desire......and they got ridiculously hot from 3.

The knicks can't even blow out the defending champions without people being like "the heat let them win". Let them win? This is professional basketball, not gym class in 7th grade

I wish it wasn't true.....but unfortantely it is....

The combination of the trade for Melo and his declining athleticism is an awful 1-2 punch. Knicks are simply better without him.....which is sad.
