Default Re-evaluating the Andrew Bynum for Howard+Clark trade

It looks like Andrew Bynum's knees are done for, and his career might be over. In hindsight, the Lakers were wise to get rid of him while his trade value was still high, and got 2 starters in return.

What are your thoughts on the trade? Which teams benefitted?

Um yeah once again Lakers pulled wool over another teams eyes. Did it woth Gasol as well that is why I dont hate it when they struggle cause it seems like they are always getting better end of trades.

we are still not sure if this is a 1yr rental of Dwight.

and this year has been far from impressive.

why leave out Denver? they are the true winniers. Afflalo and Lazy AL for Iggy

Nobody pulled the wool over anyone's eyes. Bynum's history was there for all the world to see, his attitude had been in the spotlight for years. When the trade went down I couldn't believe the 76ers could be that stupid. SO either they didn't care if he ever played or they just wanted to move a contract out

Where are those dumbass Laker fans that wanted to keep Bynum because they thought he was better

I knew Bynum wouldn't last long with those knees, I hope he recovers but I'm glad L.A doesn't have to deal with that anymore.

Though, no one would have said it over the summer, Orlando is benefiting from dwight opting in his final year with the assets they got from Phily and Den. Then add the Bucks trade, and the Magic are at a spot no one thought theyd be at this early in the rebuild.

They have a young core with potential in, Vucevic, Harris, Harkless, Nicholson(even though harris has completely eaten his minutes), and Moore, with tradeable pieces in Afflalo, Nelson, and Davis. Theres a slim possibility they could be the thunder of the east in a few years.

Howard is a GONNER to HOUSTON to be coached by Olaijuwon next year.

if not BKL.

this thread is too premature.

Denver came out the best as of right now

Lakers 2nd

Orlando surprisingly 3rd (Vucevic looks like a player you can actually pair with a star wing and build around)

Sixers gambled and lost

Orlando and Denver won. Lakers upgraded, but i'm almost positive the season wouldn't be much worse if at all had the Lakers not made the trade, so I don't know how you could call them winners of the trade. Philly is the true LOSER of this trade, and it will be compounded if they offer Bynum a max extension. It's time the NBA cut their Andrew Bynum losses. If I was a GM i'd have a hard time giving the guy 8 million to play 40 games.

Dwight Howard can't go to Brooklyn. It's virtually impossible

I mean there's always the hope that a ghetto born black guy will turn down 20 million a year for the mini MLE, or league minimum...

Or stay in LA to be mentored by Kareem.

If I was Dwight i'd rather take that, more rings. Feel me?

Lakers might have to amnesty one of their main stars given the new luxury tax regulations if they are to keep Dwight. Possibly Gasol esp if his injury proves too much of a hindrance in the playoffs. Some tough decisions to be made for sure in the off-season.
