Labour statistics weren't made up? Either they were, or whoever estimates them just shitted out jobs.

Libya was a coverup.

The polls were skewed for Democrats.

Taxes WILL go up.

The reforms are not communism, just socialism.

Doesn't it make you feel kind of... I don't know, disrespected that FoxNews just flat-out lies in your face about real, checkable facts in an effort to push an agenda? Again, it is one thing to skew data in an effort to push one ideology or another, but it is something quite different to simply make up numbers to make your viewers feel better. FNC is very cynical and has a general disregard for its viewers. It obviously doesn't believe you will check their supposed "facts" and have any thoughts of your own... And you didn't disappoint them.

That is the harsh reality of the situation we find ourselves in.

In 2000 and 2004, I obviously voted for Gore and Kerry, but I was well aware that Bush posed a real challenge and that the election could go his way (in 2004, it actually felt that way going in and I braced myself for it accordingly).

The fact that a lot of Republicans were blindsided by this demolition of an election (and it was a demolition, not just for the presidency, but other important seats) should make you angry. But, not angry at Obama or Democrats or the "main stream media... The news channel which you depend upon to give you straight facts with "no spin" is failing you, even when it comes to very basic polling data.

Someone's bubble remains unpopped.

Please, enjoy insulating yourself from reality.

If people haven't figured out yet that a news channel that at one time featured Glenn Beck isn't really a news network, I don't think they'll ever catch on.

An anchor on one of their programs called Nate Silver's mathematically derived permutations 'scientific gobbeldygook'. That should be a red flag about credentials to anyone with even the most basic common sense

Hopefully time will allow the GOP to go through the proper stages of grief and they will return to a more sane, reasonable incarnation of their party. But looks like a lot are going to double down on crazy, if so should be fun watching that train wreck for the next few election cycles.

Why is everything a conspiracy for GOP supporters???

Quote:
Ohio really did go to President Obama last night. And he really did win. And he really was born in Hawaii. And he really is legitimately President of the United States. Again. And the Bureau of Labor Statistics did not make up a fake unemployment rate last month. And the Congressional Research Service really can find no evidence that cutting taxes on rich people grows the economy. And the polls were not skewed to oversample Democrats. And Nate Silver was not making up fake projections about the election to make conservatives feel bad. Nate Silver was doing math. And climate change is real. And rape really does cause pregnancy sometimes. And evolution is a thing! And Benghazi was an attack ON us, it was not a scandal BY us. And nobody is taking away anyone's guns. And taxes have not gone up. And the deficit is dropping, actually. And Saddam Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction. And the moon landing was real. And FEMA is not building concentration camps. And UN election observers are not taking over Texas. And moderate reforms of the regulations on the insurance industry and the financial services industry in this country are not the same thing as Communism.

The right wing radio hacks are a serious problem but in a culture where attention seeking personalities have to say the most ridiculous and absurd for personal gain, profit, etc. you can see why these people exist across the board among many media outlets. Whether it is in sports journalism(Stephen A., Skip, etc) or in the political discourse.

It's just bizarre. I don't remember who it was... Maybe that General guy... Leading up to the election, he was commenting on how early voting was way down in Ohio and why this was a huge boon for the Republicans. It just so happened that I wrote a story a few hours earlier regarding how successful early voting had been in the state. I had just spoken to several Board of Election officials in many of our most important counties literally a couple hours before I saw the post.

I tried to explain this to him. Apparently, Karl Rove was on FNC ranting about early voting in Ohio being down from '08.

I just don't understand... FNC has such little regard for their viewers, they will lie right to their faces and not fear any repercussions when the results show the opposite of what their so called experts had been preaching.

Rove knew early voting in Ohio was up from '08. It is something very easily checked. FoxNews deemed it was better for "the bubble" if they just made up figures to match their desired reality. But, their viewers don't get angry at the news outlet for being totally dishonest with them... They get angry at the facts themselves for not following the narrative.

Wake up for god's sake. For your own sake.

Honestly, I think guys like Beck, Hannity, etc got together to pop some champagne after Obama officially won re-election. I mean what the hell would they do if he lost? Spend all their conspiracy theory time praising Romney? I didn't even know Beck had his own radio show post Fox until someone here posted that vid of him ranting about leaving civilization and stocking up on arms the day after the election.

And Obama... Let's see, he has instituted Bob Dole's old health reform initiative and he apparently hasn't completely turned around the economy fast enough.

Just like with the 2000 election that I talked about earlier in the thread, could you imagine if the roles were reversed, here?

Yeah I remember that discussion you had with General where you politely explained to him why Rove was clearly wrong. I remember specifically because I think a day after that I ran across an article where it was made clear that early voting was significantly higher this time around in Ohio then it was in '08 and I was going to post it in that thread but I couldn't find it. But it was hilarious and a bit troubling to see him and Rove make fools of themselves and do their best to turn a blind eye to the truth that was staring them in their face. There's this strange willful ignorance and self delusion that is pervading certain factions of that party.

Republicans are the ones who don't blame themselves? Which party is it rely on the government to pay for them?
