I am a Lakers fan long before a Kobe fan and I wouldn't make that trade. Kobe needs to finish his career as a Laker no matter the outcome. He still plays at a high level at this time so the team isn't suffering from his being on the floor.
Ask me again when I'm begging him to retire, until then he's a Laker
I like this answer. Until Kobe starts hurting his team, I don't see any reason why anyone would. LeBron would need to win 4 more just to catch Kobe. 2 as the main guy. Kobe will retire a Laker, no doubt about it.
Nope. I'll admit i'm a Kobe fan first, laker fan second. Kobe is the reason why i'm a laker fan though, i grew up watching him. Just b/c i'm a kobe fan first though, doesn't mean i don't criticize him when he shoots too much, doesn't play D or etc.
That said, I wouldn't trade him. What's the point? The Lakers ARE still competitive now and are legit title contenders, just like they'd be with Lebron. Yea Lebron will give you a few more years than Kobe could but the few years Lebron could give you DOES NOT and WILL NOT be more than the 16 years Kobe has put into the Lakers organization
Add that to the fact that Kobe is a Lakers LEGEND who holds damn near every laker record possible, h3ll no i wouldn't trade him now, especially not after everything he's done for the organization, in terms of marketing wise and winning. Besides, he's only got like 2 or 3 years left, let that man finish his career where it started.
Long term it isn't. Kobe is an all time great but if you can improve your team you do it. Nobody should be untouchable as great as Kobe has been. Nothing to do with being spoiled. You do what will be better for your team now and the long term.
