best economy, jobs everywhere, nice people, conservative, has major cities, etc...
is it the best state in the US to live in at the moment?

Isn't California considered a failed state with some places having 3rd world living conditions.

Texas is way too hot for me. Hate hot weather. It's also a red state.
Much rather be living here in the Bay Area.

Loved the BBQ places in Texas when I was there. Especially the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo.
