Default Phil hasn't commented either way on the Lakers situation

Seems like a good sign for the Lakers. Everyone who has to do business in the intense spotlight of professional sports knows that the best way to do a deal is in absolute secrecy.

As far as i know Phil hasn't commented yet (said no) to the Lakers job right?

edit: So i rarely get these feelings but my NBA 6th sense tells me Phil is a shoe in for this job. My reasons are the recent firing of Mike Brown and the fact that Phil has taken these type of hiatuses before (only 1 year before he went to LA from Chicago). I don't believe the Lakers braintrust would have made this premature a move without some type of contingency (or in this case just a better plan).

From all the talks it seems as there's mutual interest and that Phil has his mouth watering at the idea of joining this team.

The Lakers plan on meeting with Phil Jackson this morning, The Times has learned. It’s his job if he wants it (Twitter)

Phil is going to want to be "shown some love" (begged) because of the way he was shown the door two years ago. I wonder who's doing the negotiating, because it was probably Jim Buss who gave him the old heave-ho.

What would be hilarious is if PJax wants too much, and the Lakers end up settling for D'Antoni.

Lakers will pay any price for a legitimate shot at a championship. The coaching on this team is pretty much the team's only other weak leak. The other minor leak on this team might be the bench but you can easily address that in trades/ST. Any price the team is willing to pay now will come back and then some if the Lakers just make the Finals.
