Default Best in the West

Who is the best team in the Western Conference?

And can they beat the Heat if they met in the finals?

Right now either OKC or the Clippers, and neither of them are good enough to beat the Heat in a 7 game series. The Lakers are the only team with enough talent except they are all kinds of messed up right now.

The lakers bench would be shit on by Miami's ...
I think Clipps/SA are the best team atm in terms of being gelled as a unit.

Too early to tell.

It's either the Spurs or the Clips at the moment. Neither teams do not seem more impressive than the Heat.

But it's waay too early.

Five games into the season. How about revisiting this question at least 30-40 games into the season?

But seriously, a best team in the West thread when the most games anyone has played is five?

People made this thread before the season started. I'm just showing how much could change in one week.

This isn't any different from any other power ranking.

It's interesting to think about because so many Lakers fans thought right out of the gate they would steamroll the west and are the worst of the "contenders" so far.

The Spurs have a system in place and I expect them to have the #1 seed again. I would to say they are the best team in the west so far. I don't know how much not having Harden is going to hurt OKC in the playoffs.

I think the Grizzlies would give the Heat big problems, too bad they won't make it to the finals.

Lakers
Clippers
OKC
Spurs

will be the best in the west by end of season

Dallas has absolutely been a nice surprise and is a "darkhorse" IMO. If Dirk uses this time to get those young legs under him again and returns to an underrated, very dangerous team like this that team is going to be a serious force to be reckoned with.
