I don't now why, but I'm just now realizing how much NBA type talent Michigan has on their roster and how little Florida has on theirs.

And remember when Mitch McGary was, at one time, the #1 player in his class (on one service) and a consensus to 5-10 player before plummeting down the rankings? He's definitely looked a lot more like that consensus top 5 player in the tournament. Haven't seen him in any mocks, yet, but I imagine if he came out he'd go top 10.

Bit different to go from playing a 14, 11, and 15 seed to a 4 seed eh Florida?

So far this is the most impressive a team has looked in the tournament.

burke and mcgary are obvious lottery picks for this year (if they choose to come out, i think burke is more likely to than mcgary, but he could too as well). who else is nba talent? hardaway is good. hes a very poor mans jeff green, maybe a little more handle than him. and g-robs gotta improve but he can make it to the next level too.

this stauskas kid is on fire he looks like shitbreak from the american pie movies

All 4 of Burke, McGary, Hardaway Jr. and Robinson will at least get a shot in the NBA. I could see Stauskas eventually getting a shot, too, with how well he shoots the ball. He wouldn't be the first rangy wing who's only discernible skill is shooting the 3-ball to stick in the NBA for awhile. And from what I've seen and heard about Stauskas, he seems to have the shooting ability to be an elite 3-point specialist. He's still a long shot, though.

On the flip side, Florida only has one player that I think could maybe stick in the league for a while in Patric Young.

Florida I think just squandered away their chance to get back in the game and have a chance at a comeback in the second half. They had the ball down 43-28 with 39 second to go, and they turn it over and it leads to a Trey Burke layup to make it 45-28. They go down and get 2 points to make it 45-30 but then foul Stauskas shooting a 3 to end the half.

First few mins of the 2nd half is the key. Michigan has a tendency to come out flat after halftime. 17 pts seems like a lot, but a few stops and a few treys it could be single digits. I hope it doesn't happen since I'm rooting hard for Michigan. I need to see a 25 pt lead before I say checkmate, though.

I think sometimes we make it out to be harder than it is to be drafted and play some in the NBA. There are many ways to look at this, but here's one viewpoint (amongst many that we could bring forward:

If fellow Canadian Andy Rautins can be drafted in the second round and be on the Knicks bench for a year then Stauskis absolutely can at least step on an NBA court at some point and easily be drafted.

Rautins is smaller and less athletic. Not sure if anyone remembers his senior year at Syracuse, but he was pretty good. Was a leader and was a more relied upon scorer than Stauskis is right now...but still, Rautins as a senior didn't bring anything more to the table skill wise than Stauskis does now as FRESHMAN. Stauskis can actually drive better and finish around the rim better than Rautins could as a senior too.

Not saying he's a sure fire future late first round pick, but am saying you guys should reconsider who gets drafted in the second round and given opportunities in the NBA...you probably find players much less capable than this freshman.

I didn't mean to say he was a longshot to get a shot in the NBA. I meant he was more of a longshot to stick in the league for awhile than the other 4. I absolutely think Stauskas, the very least, will get to spend some time in the NBA on someone's bench. A 6'7" wing with elite 3P shooting ability can find a spot on a roster in the NBA somewhere.

Basicaly, Michigan is starting 5 players right now who, at the very least, will play in the NBA for at least one or two years. Florida might have one in Patric Young. Their entire team is basically a bunch of undersized tweeners.
