Default OJ Mayo incident

http://www.wowktv.com/story.cfm?func...=19256&catid=3

Another angle

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...d=18222 20161

Video of incident. He gets 2 technicals then the refs pulls a Manu Ginobili and falls to the floor. OJ Mayo gets blamed for "pushing the ref down".

After watching the video i can understand the tech for holding onto the ball after dunkin. Thats if they have had a first delay of game warning. Kids get into a war of words...its broken up but watch the ref follow OJ Mayo like a police officer just waiting for you to do something wrong. OJ Mayo walks back towards the player and mean mugs...2nd tech is given, automatic ejection. No tech or anything was issued to the instigator here. Why?

even the holding the ball delay was silly in that there is nobody waiting for it, everyone is walking towards the bench as if a time out had been called... oj should not have gone over and confronted the other player, he made a great play no reason to get in sombodys face over it... but the ref wow wtf was that? i have never seen a ref flop...lol

That ref must be a member of Italy's National soccer team.

I think the ref tripped but we can't see the feet so it's possible mayo tripped him, not saying he did but maybe there is more to this story. Stupid call, Mayo shouldn't have held the ball, but stupid, stupid, call.

Even if it was a trip the way the ref fell was ridiculous.

Wow, that ref may very well have cost Mayo a few spots in the draft, which could in turn make him fall out of the lottery, which could result in millions lost for him, which could mean that he'll lose motivation, which may steer him towards a busted career.......

.....

which could mean the end of the world as we know it!

D*mn floppers!!!

On the myspace video, he clearly bumps him. You can see the ref move forward before falling. Not saying he didnt flop, but there is no reason this kid should be touching a ref. This focus on High School basketball has led the student-athletes to believe they are bigger than the game. He should be suspended. no way a highschool player should be able to confront a ref like that. No way.

To make MORE out of the situation and make OJ Mayo look bad. As he did with the 2 bogus techs. Really that simple. Why would the ref act like he was shoved by Ben Wallace or shot by a 9mm?

Perfectly said.

They just showed another angle briefly on PTI on Espn. I dont think I saw a trip. They only showed it once.

Yeah there is no way for a player to touch a ref. They should be off limits.

Ref should also get criticism for his lame duck tech calls as it appeared he targetted OJ Mayo specifically. Maybe because he was on some "He may be OJ Mayo the great but I'm gonna be the sheriff in this town". I dont like that. Not excusingOJ Mayo touching the ref just the reaction from the ref to flop and the events beforehand.
