Why didn't they hire Phil? Did he not want the job?

Anyway, this is redemption time for D'Antoni. If he fucks this up, he's probably done as a head coach for good.

People are just in denial that now the Lakers become the JUGGERNAUT of the West with that beastly P&R. The rest of the league should prepare their anus.

Terrible move by my Lakers
It would be great if all the guys were in their mid 20's.

All Knick fans trying to offer insight into D'Antoni should be quiet. Because the only thing we're saying is that he sucked hard in NY and did well in Phoenix simply because he had Nash and some good shooters.

Knick fans are just being very personal here and the input is irrelevant, as it has nothing to do with what the guy did in Phoenix and, as I said before, is not the final word on his coaching ability. If he sucks, he sucks. But the Knicks is no proof of anything.

That makes literally no ****ing sense. He's had two major coaching gigs, and one of them, the people who watched it every day should not comment (and note: the non knick fan posters bashed him long before we did, we held out the wishful thinking type hope.)

There isn't exactly ten different NBA jobs he had we can look at, there are two main ones, and saying those fans of one of those teams should be quiet is pretty stupid.

Lakers needs to win now being that old and the triangle would not have been easy to learn for Nash and Dwight

By the time both would be confortable with the triangle, Nash would have been 40 and Kobe & MWP not much younger as well

D'Anthony's system is much easier to learn and Dwight can run with Nash and Kobe.
The issue is that the big that will run is also the big that can defend!
So each time the run and go will end in a TO, Gasol will have to defend alone against quick players and it will not be pretty

Seems like a risky move but there was no miracle solution

A trade for the Lakers: Gasol for Diaw, Danny Green and Mills. All 3 players would be great in the run and gun

I'm a Nuggets fan and I couldn't agree more with the Knicks fans on this one. The dude absolutely failed miserably in the only 2 coaching gigs he's had in the NBA where the team wasn't tailor made for his system, and in his most recent one refused to modify the system at all despite not having any of the personnel to make it work. That's the sign of a bad coach.
