i dont know if im watching different okc games this season.martin is staying with his man and challenging every shot and he got better on help defense.and 1.5 steals in 29 mpg.i dont know whats your point
Dont try and tell Clippersfan this, he wont have a sniff of it, in his eyes Martin is useless and unproductive besides scoring at 50%fg and is nowhere near the defensive juggernaut that Harden is
History tells us there is a VERY STRONG chance that Martin misses a HUGE chunk on time this season. He's only played in 72 or more games 3 times in 9 seasons. To say he's prone to injury is a massive understatement.
I'm not going to use a few games to disregard 7 or 8 seasons of a body of work.
In a completely different role. You have 0 seasons of Martin as the 3rd scoring option (off the bench) on a much better team than he's ever been on. He may regress back to who he was, or he may be close to who he's been the first seven games of this season. I think he will eventually settle somewhere in-between.
My biggest worry his durability. If he gets hurt and misses extended time, that will cost us games in the standings and eventually could be the difference in being the 1 or 2 seed and homecourt in the first two rounds, or being the 3 or 4 seed and only getting homecourt advantage in the first round.
But will you make the "CP3/Blake were injured!" excuse again? Even if they are injured.
A deal is a deal so no. In reference to the Grizzlies Clippers series though it's not an excuse if it's true. If Conley, Zbo and Gay were all carrying injuries slowing them down like the Clippers top 5 guys... and Grizzlies fans brought it up, it would be fair and valid. Zach not being 100 percent back to form isn't the same as him being actively injured and the rest of their squad was pretty healthy.
