Angry D'antoni & Buss are in a tough situation now.

Seriously, how short will be the fuse if Lakers start to underachieve with mr Pringles? The expectation for this team is HUGE, now you need to add to expectations about hiring Phil which was a fan favorite turned down by Lakers management themselves...

All you need is a solid streak of loses and Armaggedon is set to occur in L.A.

And at that point you need to stop looking at the coach and look at the roster as the problem. Specifically the god-awful bench. A great team should be able to win with almost any coach as long as they are not a bumbling moron.

That's a big part of the problem. LA seems to be collectively incapable of being objective about the Lakers. It should have been obvious that the team is old at key spots and weak defensively in the backcourt and on the perimeter.

People talking about them breaking the Bulls 72-10 record was just nuts. The Lakers just don't have a championship roster.

You kidding me? Championships have been won with way much less, this team just needs a solid game plan to maximize their abbilities. The bench isn't that bad either, but recently our coach has been rotating the wrong players at bad times and in the wrong position. Jordan Hill, Meeks, Jamison... our bench is underrated because it has been undercoached.

What does that even mean?

These guys are veteran pro athletes. It's on them to be productive. Take good shots, be efficient, rebound, don't turn it over etc. When it comes to teams that don't have a ton of rookies, all the coach needs to do is ensure the right people are on the court. For the Lakers, that's going to be that amazing starting lineup for the most part. But when those backups are called upon, it's on them to produce.

I think everyone is overrating a coach's effect in the NBA. If the Lakers start winning now I'm not going to credit D'Antoni for magically motivating these players. I'll give credit to the already talented players simply putting it together.
