Obama is meeting with the CEOs of several major companies to discuss hiring and the looming fiscal cliff tomorrow. A lot of these guys are withholding hiring workers despite record revenues under the false guise of worrying about healthcare or the end of the bush tax cuts. Anything to keep lining their pockets.
Here's a guy who said before the election that he would have to fire many of his employees. Today he announced an across the board 5% raise-
Anti-Obama CEO gives employees a raise instead of a pink slip
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- David Siegel, the CEO who had warned his employees they'd face layoffs if President Obama was re-elected, gave everyone a 5% raise last week instead.
Siegel isn't backing off his gloomy predictions for the economy under Obama's second term. But he said his company, Westgate Resorts, had record profitability this year and he wanted to share the success with employees, most of whom had not gotten a raise the year before.
The CEO said he believes his employees will need higher wages to deal with increased costs he expects everyone will face under Obama. And he's not backing off his prediction that developments like Obamacare and the Dodd-Frank financial regulations will hurt the economy in the years ahead -- and could lead him to make staff cuts eventually.
Like many of the CEOs in this country, his company was experiencing record profits while he was crying about how disastrous Obama's policies would be. At least he had the decency to reward his workers instead of pocketing the money and canning them like others have.

yes, more young people voted for obama. however, those were all the lazy welfare cows who are currently unemployed, not hard working food service peoples.
what kind of lazy freeloading hippie is going to wait tables at olive garden for $2.50 + tips? young people who work food service are probably the republican young people, so really these dumb ass business owners like papa john schnatter are just taking out their angst on the few young republicans left in this country.

Papa Johns CEO backs off Obamacare nonsense:
Papa John's CEO: My Obamacare claims were twisted
Papa John's founder and CEO John Schnatter wrote Tuesday that the media had it all wrong in its reporting on his comments on how the national health care law known widely as "Obamacare" will negatively impact his business.
"Many in the media reported that I said Papa John's is going to close stores and cut jobs because of Obamacare," he wrote in the Huffington Post. "I never said that. The fact is we are going to open over hundreds of stores this year and next and increase employment by over 5,000 jobs worldwide. And, we have no plans to cut team hours as a result of the Affordable Care Act."
Schnatter, who supported and fundraised for Mitt Romney in the presidential election, went on to say that while his company is still researching the impact of the law, "we will honor this law, as we do all laws, and continue to offer 100% of Papa John's corporate employees and workers in company-owned stores health insurance as we have since the company was founded in 1984.
Denny's CEO Smacks Down Franchise Owner Over Talk of Obamacare Surcharge
Don't expect to hear more about an Obamacare surcharge from Denny's franchisee John Metz.
Denny's chief executive John Miller privately reached out to Metz to express his "disappointment" with the Florida franchisee's controversial statements about Obamacare, which sparked a wave of backlash for the national restaurant chain over the past few days. Metz released a statement Monday night expressing "regret" over his statements.
"We recognize his right to speak on issues, but registered our disappointment that his comments have been interpreted as the company’s position," Miller said in an email to The Huffington Post.
Miller is rushing to put out the fire sparked by Metz's controversial proposal to charge restaurant customers a 5 percent Obamacare fee. "Customers have two choices: They can either pay it and tip 15 or 20 percent, or if they really feel so inclined, they can reduce the amount of tip they give to the server," Metz told HuffPost in an interview last week.
Some Denny's franchisees have since dealt with angry customers, calls for a boycott and declining sales. A spokeswoman for Metz said he will not conduct more interviews.
Metz, whose RREMC Restaurants owns more than 30 Denny's locations, said in a statement, "We regret that the statements we made may have been interpreted as representative of the Denny’s brand or of other franchisees, which they are not. Our stores do not have a 5 percent surcharge. Despite recent media coverage, RREMC Restaurants is committed to exploring viable and effective ways to deal with the changing economic climate, including the implementation of The Affordable Care Act. We have always been and will continue to be 100 percent dedicated to our employees and customers and will work tirelessly to find solutions that are in their best interests. It is our intention is to fully comply with the law."
Re: Red Lobster, Olive Garden cutting workers hours due to ObamaCare.
But WAIT!! Aren't all libs just sitting on their asses at home collecting food stamps and waiting for handouts?!?! Then that means.... OH NO! It's young republican kids working these shytty jobs because they don't want anything handed to them!! Save the young conservatives!!!
But seriously kid, there's a reason you've been getting shit on by the most knowledgable posters here since before the election. You're not smart and your views of the whole right vs left thing are very far off base, to the point that other conservatives and known idiots on the forum won't even align themselves with your ideas. Stop trying to make everything bad blamed on 'libs' and everything positive credited to republicans.
