Just seems like Jim Buss is too stubborn to listen to Kobe. i wouldn't mind an official statement from Mitch. It'll probably come on Thursday when they present mike d.
Kobe is known to be two faced, but to be fair so is everybody in the public eye.
Anybody in his position will privately hate Phil but welcome him and say all the right things in public. Public figures from all walks for life have done that, and its understandable.
Kobe's probably one of the least two-faced athletes around. If he's ticked off about something, he's going to let people know about it. The very public Shaq feud, "ship his azz out", "people are stupid and need to shut up", etc. That's why he's almost always an interesting interview...he keeps things about as real as it can get in today's mega-media society.
D'Antoni's contract length lines up perfectly with Nash's.
There is no secret conspiracy here...Kobe's been in the league a long time, so we all know how he operates by now. If Kobe wanted Brown gone that badly, he would have just said so upfront. Kobe's never been one to sugarcoat things for the media.
Mamba out
I agree it lines up with Nash's contract, but it also lines up with Kobe's as well. It also shows that they're playing for the NOW and not the future, which was my main point (my bad if it wasn't obvious).

Kobe does sugarcoat things, everybody does.
Kobe's current contract expires after NEXT year. D'Antoni's and Nash's the year after that. Again, no super secret conspiracy theory here.
Every media star sugercoats things to a certain extent sure, but Kobe is probably the closest to actually being honest most of the time, which is both refreshing and entertaining.
