Superstars like Kobe can still play well while thinking about a lot of instructions but most players just need to play (See Metta and Morris). Even Nash is a guy that makes it up as he goes. Brown was way too restrictive
Also, it makes no sense running a grind-it-out offense with all this talent. You want good offensive players getting MORE possessions..

you could tell dumb a$$ never played any professional game....overcoaching...call every play in game...& grind out stretergy...
real @ss talk. no reason we should be losing to teams like mavs
if u just rolled out a ball at the local YMCA, the laker squad would murked the dallas squad
the fact we lost that game showed how much we were hindered by our coaching and how much dallas team overachieved their talent. that's a complete result of coaching disparity
mike brown needs to do some serious soul searching if he wants to come back to this sport
agreed. this is why I think D'Antoni was a good hire. lakers are very talented. d'antoni runs a simple, freewheeling system with a loose structure. just run a lot of pick and rolls while remembering to keep the spacing and move the ball and they should be fine.
If anyone doubted that getting rid of Brown "after only five games!" wasn't the best move the team could have made...well, I doubt if they feel that way now.
Like night and day.
And the the princeton offense was ok. It wasn't the thing that did them in and the reason why they got all those loses. It may have screwed up Nash's game a bit.
But the reason why they got all of those loses were because of the turnovers and defense. Perimeter D sucked, and Howard wasn't himself (still not) on the D. And TOs all over the place.

There is no way a team with Nash, Kobe, Dwight and Pau should be struggling to score 90 like they did several times to start the season
Mike brown said to ESPNLA that he offred it to kobe and kobe said ok we can try it.
I don't buy the idea that Kobe wanted to change the game after 17 years.
I think what is often lost is the fact that they decided on the Princeton prior to getting Nash and Howard. With the previous makeup of the team having a structured offense made sense. What I don't get is why MB stuck to the plan once they got Nash. That was stupid. If anything getting Nash was MB's ticket to an easier life. He practically had to do nothing on offense and instead he decides to over coach.
