Re: New York Knicks (6-0) vs. Memphis Grizzlies (6-1), 9:30 PM EST, ESPN
just call a spade a spade. I dont make excuses when my team loses. the knicks lost because of match ups, not officiating. Memphis got more foul calls because they continually fed the post with inferior players defending them. On top of that they whined that they were getting called for said fouls. Big market team expects to get all the calls over small market team.

We'll see you again in NY. You'll be on the second night of a back to back, after Boston.

the grizzlies have like no weakness. they are great at perimeter defense with tony allen and rudy gay. great reboudning with zbo and gasol. dont turn the ball over, and have an awesome bench.

Damn!!! The Grizzlies are pretty effin good. Grizz are top of the west. Above the Thunder, Spurs and Clippers. I guess that makes the Lakers 6th in the west... If they're lucky.

Rudy Gay is a weakness IMO, Melo roasted his ass tonite. Could've gotten ugly if he didn't get in foul trouble.

Not to say the Grizz played bad and were given a gift. They played great actually. But the game could have gone either way. The refs made sure it went the Grizz way though.
Or...... The Knicks should have just stopped fouling.
If you commit a foul, don't get mad when the refs call a foul. Like, what do you expect? The refs to say "Memphis is ahead in FTs. Let NYK get away with next few"?

Not much you can do when they call touch fouls on defense but allow you to get abused when you're on offense. By the end of the 3rd Melo, Tyson, and Sheed all had around 5 fouls.
Don't act like NBA refs aren't notorious for bad officiating.

That what happends when you reach, and can't keep your man of the boards and in melo's case in particular you are in a terrible mismatch, it would be like Memphis putting Conely on melo in the post and saying he got a raw deal lol well no crap you gonna be in foul trouble

They weren't calling the same fouls though. Knicks were getting manhandled, and the refs didn't blow the whistle. They called a ticky tack foul on Melo when Gasol backed him up, and their arms got locked up.
Again, I am not saying Memphis got a gift win. I am saying they didn't allow the Knicks to even have a chance to compete. Even if the game was called even, Memphis probably still would have won.
