Look at someone like Kidd. Making timely shots, getting crucial steals, knowing when to run and when to pace the offense, defensive stops, getting teammates the right looks etc.
Great players despite their age usually find ways to impact games to the benefit of their teams. Especially those that don't rely too much on athleticism.
Billups is essentially a coach on the floor for the Clippers if I'm not mistaken.
This is the key. With Crawford and more team weapons now Billups can just give a consistent 10-12 points, nothing more and his leadership, poise and ability to draw fouls will be enough. This is the benefit of the Clippers having the best backcourt rotation in the NBA. If Billups isn't doing much you have 20 ppg bench scorer Crawford or defensive terror Bledsoe. Or even once in a while Willie who can bang down a few threes.

When did I bag on Kobe's field goal percentage? I never have, you must be grouping me with other people that hurt your feelings too. Even if you do look at field goal percentage Kobe's been 45+ most of his career which is very good. Only thing I've dissed is shot selection, which is an entirely different topic.

eFG is better than TS% imo. TS account FTs, which you cannot defend. It's not on the floor. eFG accounts for the 3, and you can defend that. FG is good because you can see shot selection or just how good the player is at making shots.
As for Billups, almost more than half of his shots are 3 pointers. So, meh.

Fair points. Bottom line though is Chauncey has always been pretty subpar field goal shooting wise and it's never stopped him from being a star. Sure he takes a couple ill advised shots here or there but definitely gives more than he costs the team.

Willie Green is one of the worst SG's in the league without question.

If not THE worst. Dude is shooting the 3 okay but does NOTHING else. Can't make plays, can't play D.. can't rebound. He also has a bunch of boneheaded turnovers at costly times.

You don't see why it's less noteworthy for a player who's already become slow as shit and has never been a great athlete anyways? Most of Billups damage comes from 3's off screens or posting up smaller guards nowadays. Torn Achilles would affect those things why? Tons of NBA players played in our practice facility this summer and multiple said Billups looked amazing.
He's a good shooter, good passer, guy to can draw free throws and play scrappy D. As I said you can do all of those while being a step slow and unathletic (he's done it for years!).
