Unfortunately it doesnt work that way and never has....

MVP is about valuability to your team, how well that performance of yours translates to success based on what you have to work with around you, compared to other MVP candidates....

I agree. He probably won't win the MVP. That's not the issue. Who cares which team has the better record? They were both 2 seeds last season and were the top 2 MVP candidates. Better team record doesn't count for that much. Especially if they're both top seeds in their conference.

Obviously its close between Lebron & Durant... but what i think (and aparently that race ladder staff thinks) gives Lebron the slight edge for MVP over Durant right now (and has last year) is the fact that Durant is getting more help on both ends of the floor, he is winning by not having to do as much as Lebron has to for his team (Lebron is their pointguard, their scorer and their best defender and believe it or not their best rebounder), Miami would suffer more without Lebron than OKC would without Durant, as you can see Durant has a teammate who is in MVP discussion himself... yes Lebron has Wade & Bosh, but thats basically it... and they are not in their vintage stage, Westbrook is playing much better than Wade and Ibaka you could say plays overall better than Bosh especially when you consider Ibakas defense (DPOY candidate)..... and then there is the rest, where Durants teammates produce also more pts, rbs, asts, stls, blks a game than Lebrons teammates do (i can show you if you wish).... all in all this is kindof bottlenecking Durant when compared to Lebron and it bottlenecked him much more last season where he also had James Harden who is in discussion for the best SG in the NBA right now believe it or not... and as you can see is a strong MVP candidate himself at top 5, he has been replaced with K-Martin who is playing better than any bench guy Lebron has...

Kevin Durant is the MVP. Russell Westbrook is an all-star but it's not ridiculous to argue that he shouldn't make it, Parker and Paul are better and Curry isn't necessarily behind him...tho I'm not arguing that.

Westbrook does a lot to make plays for Durant, but he also fails a lot to get him the ball when and where he should. But Durant's offense this year has been incredible. He's a great rebounding SF, he uses his hands well on defense and is a very good shot-blocker. His defense has been very solid this year, his playmaking and passing has been better than ever and he's making the right plays.

He is incredible in the way he doesn't stop the ball from flowing. I think he's clearly the MVP. He's playing every night. Lebron has been terrific. His defense is getting back towards being elite. He's rebounding very well and he still does a great job at making plays. But his scoring is down, despite the fact that he's over-dominating the ball. His offensive impact is not strictly his stats. Durant's efficiency comes, not only in shooting percentages, but in his use of the ball.

LeBron is the NBA's poster boy of course he is gonna top it after he beat the Lakers in LA, other than that KD had a better week and has had the better season so far.

Having a hard time seeing how LeBron deserves to be ahead of Durant right now. Yes, plenty of times team record plays a major part in the MVP race, and Durant's team is five games better thane LeBron's team, and they're both having unbelievably impressive statistical seasons.

Yep, you've returned to your ignorance and dumbassery when it comes to LeBron. You did so good for so long, too. This coupled with that incredibly stupid and ignorant bullshit you posted in the Durant/LeBron better scorer thread has put you right back to where you used to be.

This. People are also forgetting KD dropped 40 on the Lakers not too long ago.
