Another MVP year possibly...but who could be the unsung hero behind him is Pat Burrell. He's gonna be critical.

Yeah Burrell will be critical to the success of the Phillies, I believe that their pitching will be even more so. Phillies won 85 games last year (4th best in the NL) but they were still 12 games behind their division rivals, the Mets. Phillies pitchers are going to have to bring down their ERAs, Burrell and Howard won't be able to carry their team when they're down 7-1 in the 9th inning.

Barry Bonds will get 753 home runs before pulling his hammy...
Sosa will get a major league contract... and hit 34 home runs...
Griffey will not get injured... and he will hit 37 home runs, getting 600 career...
Frank Thomas and Jim Thome will reach 500... A-Rod and Manny might...
and more...

Barry Bonds: what are the chances he'll do anything? Isn't that steroids thing still pending? Is it possible he won't even be able to play?
. . .
Sosa: 34 Home Runs? Major league contract? I wish, but incredibly unlikely. . .
. . .
Griffey: Not getting injured?
. . .
Thomas, Thome, A-Rod, and Manny: Sure, I can see it.

Yes, but in games where the Phillie offense doesn't produce quite as much, it's going to be up to the pitchers to carry the team (as it is with every ML team).

Pitching in general. Phillies need to add 2 bullpen arms, one of them with the ability to be a closer for insurance that Gordon doesnt go down again. Starting pitching? Eh, definately not a great staff...and playing in a hitters park you just hope they can keep the ball in play more.

Staff...
Brett Myers
Freddy Garcia
Jamie Moyer
Cole Hamels
Adam Eaton

Still need to find a taker for Lieber. Grab BP help.

The D-Backs have a shot at being something special. They won 76 games last year and were only 12 games out of their division, a big number, but they can get over the hump!

He'll finish 17-9 with 243 K's and a 3.46 ERA... He's turning it around!

the good core of young players will only take them so far. you need to have seasoned vets to be successful. I see the Rays to be have some luck this year, but not be a team to beat for a few years to come...

How does everybody think Pujoles will do this year? 60 hrs?

yeah. you misspelled "Pujols" and he'll get about 50 as will Howard.

The Cubs'll barely miss the playoffs, and the Mets will do a little worse than last year, the Braves could return to glory in the East, but the Mets'll still be the team to beat.
