Well another heartbreaker, but to actually be after-the-fact optimistic this time, Derozan and Val played like MEN. Derozan in particular will need to get AI-level treatment for the rest of his career to make up for this nonsense officiating. He's starting to earn that contract of his.

Three cheers for this team being infinitely more watcheable than last year where I never once watched an entire game.

The Raptors need to stop force-feeding Bargnani and Derozan. You should not want to base your offense around two inefficient volume scorers who do little else on offense when their shot is off.

I'm happy when Lowry is aggressive and looking for his own offense. At least for now, given the rest of the roster. I'd like to see Valanciunas get far more looks too.

Yeah...on another less-optimistic note I must have missed the point in Bargs' career where he proved that he had that Kobe-like ability to be cold all night but come through down the stretch. Those missed 3s were BRUTAL. Wish Casey would bench his ass when his shot isn't dropping which is unfortunately more often than not this year.

I agree, although I think unfortunately if we don't keep feeding Derozan the rock he'll never get the calls he deserves that will in turn increase his efficiency. In some respect we've gotta take our lumps as a team for that to happen. Bargs on the other hand plays a completely different game and feeding him over and over gets us nowhere.

Didn't watch the game (kinda glad I didn't)

But looking at the stats, one thing that popped out at me was Bargnani 2-19!!!

If that doesn't deserve a benching, I don't know what does. They should start Amir in his place next game.

The thing is that Bargs had 34 points from 60+% shooting just two days ago.

I have no idea what was in Casey's mind at that moment, but yeah......

I had originally thought it was impossible to jack almost 20 shots and only get one free throw.

Thanks for this today, Andrea.

Thanks.

What a disgusting game, indeed.

It was amusing listening to Jack and Devlin during the Pistons game saying how locked in and focused Bargnani looked (because all of his shots were falling), and then listening to Leo and Devlin today being absolutely shocked by his performance. At one point, Leo even said "when have you seen Bargnani have such an off night?!"

This might seem like an odd thing to say because of the huge difference in numbers, but I don't think Bargnani played that much better against the Pistons than he did today. He did the exact same things, it's just that his shot was money the other day, and it wasn't today.

I will say that he took more shots from in the paint against the Pistons, but I'm not one to applaud such small victories.

The best part was Leo's excuse to keep giving Bargnani the ball. "He's due."

After going 1-15 at that point WTF? makes you think something is going to change?

They praise every little thing he does. When he boxes out they both get boners, but when he's 2-19 it's just a wildly out of character bad game.

The nut-huggery is almost unbearable.

Ed Davis - 14 rebounds, 7/11 from the field, in 21 mins...

if he works on his mid range game (probably the easiest facet of the game to improve on), he can be the next Antonio Davis

please start him over BARGS!

So I was listening to PTS last week and Butch Carter was on. Apparently he never moved from TO after leaving the Raptors. Here's what I'm thinking... Fire BC and Casey and bring back Butch.

Player who average more rebounds than Bargs: Val(only 23 minutes a game ), Lowry(our point guard ), Derozan(our other backcourt player ), David (only 13 minutes a game ), and Amir who plays less than Bargs
