Default U.S. 'backed plan to launch chemical weapon attack on Syria and blame it on Assad'

2013:
Quote:
U.S. 'backed plan to launch chemical weapon attack on Syria and blame it on Assad's regime'

Leaked emails from defense contractor refers to chemical weapons saying 'the idea is approved by Washington'

Obama issued warning to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad last month that use of chemical warfare was 'totally unacceptable'

Leaked emails have allegedly proved that the White House gave the green light to a chemical weapons attack in Syria that could be blamed on Assad's regime and in turn, spur international military action in the devastated country.

A report released on Monday contains an email exchange between two senior officials at British-based contractor Britam Defence where a scheme 'approved by Washington' is outlined explaining that Qatar would fund rebel forces in Syria to use chemical weapons.

Barack Obama made it clear to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad last month that the U.S. would not tolerate Syria using chemical weapons against its own people.
Interesting that the Daily Mail recently deleted this article from 2013.

The false flag is strong with this one.

Why would Assad do this when US and Russia are teaming up to help defeat ISIS and Assad was on the verge of victory? What's the point?

Pretty obvious that both Russia and the U.S. are looking for reasons to get back into the Middle East. I expect to see multiple, escalating false flags from both Nations over the next 18 months.

the point was trump just said that he could see assad staying in power. this emboldened assad to use chemical weapons again. thanks trump!

The United States’ diplomatic policy on Syria for now is no longer focused on making the war-torn country’s president, Bashar al-Assad, leave power, the US ambassador to the United Nations said on Thursday, in a departure from the Obama administration’s initial and public stance on Assad’s fate.

The view of the Trump administration is also at odds with European powers, who insist Assad must step down. The shift drew a strong rebuke from at least two Republican senators.

“You pick and choose your battles and when we’re looking at this, it’s about changing up priorities and our priority is no longer to sit there and focus on getting Assad out,” US Ambassador Nikki Haley told a small group of reporters.

“Do we think he’s a hindrance? Yes. Are we going to sit there and focus on getting him out? No,” she said. “What we are going to focus on is putting the pressure in there so that we can start to make a change in Syria.”

In Ankara on Thursday, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Assad’s longer-term status “will be decided by the Syrian people.”

why are you trying to avoid the original question?

so let me get your thinking process straight

1) Assad is by all accounts winning the war on all important fronts (Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Homs, etc.) with a help of conventional weapons and international allies acting in a manner that isn't overstepping the international law too much

2) Assad's reputation is the best it has been in years. While there is still a war crime here or there, most people want him to end ISIS and the armed rebels and sit down for peace talks with opposition

3) The Trump administration announces that removing Assad is no longer a priority and his fate will be decided by Syrians. Trump has also spent his entire campaign criticizing interventionism and neocon FP so by all accounts he looked like somebody Assad could talk to.

4) Yesterday, on 5th April a major peace conference was to happen in Brussels

And you say that in this situation Assad goes and gasses a bunch of kids in some strategically and tactically unimportant shithole just for... shit and giggles? Even though the purported use of sarin/chlorine/whatever has always been the thing that elicits the loudest international outcry and calls for intervention?

Really?

Do you really believe this?

I mean dictators may be "evil" but they are hardly ever irrational actors. And this is the most irrational action Assad could've taken in this situation.

Do you really believe all this? After everything the US foreign policy establishment has done over the last few decades and after they've spent the last several years begging anyone who would listen to them to invade Syria and after they've spent years arming the so called 'moderates'?

Russia is already in the Middle East with bases along the Turkey/Armenia border and keeping a close eye on the Artsakh region. They don't need any excuse.

Actually, Hillary and Obama helped transport the sarin from Libya to Syria in 2016.
