Re: PG's who average more rebounds than the teams starting C
Some of these rebounding guards (Lowry, Kidd, Rondo) have a great motor and understanding at the time of positioning themselves to get that board. It isn't just about being tall.

Too lazy to look it up,but Jason Kidd with the Nets and I believe he may have also been tied with Dirk for RPG several years ago in Dallas. Although Dirk is a 4.

I agree about guards like rondo and kidd having a great understanding where the ball will come off the rim. What perplexes me is how Barg can average such a miniscule amount of rebounds. It really has to come down to effort on the glass, which he seems to be lacking. Dont see how a coach could deal with that.
Re: PG's who average more rebounds than the teams starting C
Jason Kidd and Fat Lever may be the best rebounding guards ever. Lever had 9.3RPG two years in a row. He wasn't even as big as Kidd, tho I think the same height.

You know what's funny? Best PF in Toronto, Ed Davis is averaging 5.1 rebs in 15 minutes. Shooting almost 58%. Only gets 15 minutes a game...
Yea, Bargnani is a PF like Nowitzki. People have to stop calling him a C...not that his rebounding is decent for a PF either.
I've liked Ed Davis since last year. Terrific rebounder and hard worker. He's better as a 6th man, but he's also better than Bargnani for this team. The team's rebounding and defense isn't enough to compensate for Bargnani, just as Bargnani's offense isn't enough to compensate for his lack of defense and rebounding...not on this team, not right now, not with anything he's actually done. He does have talent tho.

The difference is that Dirk can (or could) be a pretty good rebounder, Bargnani can't.

How often has this happened in the past? And honestly, how does a 7 footer let this happen?
Interesting thread.
I also don't understand how 7 footers like Brook have trouble getting boards while it seems more and more guards are making a bigger rebounding impact.
