Can't even give credit when it's due, pathetic. It worked because they were playing the run entire way.
what credit? you're a cowboys fan rooting for rg3 to keep running so he could get laid out. why run with your franchise qb after he took a hit like that, when the giants cant stop alfred morris? ok there. good luck with the bengals and steelers

I'm rooting for him tonight, he can break his neck next week.
Eventually that college style offense they play is going to catch up to them. I can't see them succeeding running a pistol offense to win more games.
All the pistol offense is is a formation, which doesn't mean that a certain of plays have to be run out of it. Just because the offense was generally popularized in college doesn't make it any less of an effective or noneffective formation.

You're kind of making his point. NFL defenders are too fast to allow this type of formation to work against them in the long run. They'll adjust like they always do and find a way to neutralize this college style offense.

People have been saying that all season though and the timeline keeps getting pushed further and further back. Again, there's nothing about the formation that determines it's effectiveness or limits the types of plays a team can run out of it, but I suppose since it was popularized in college it's doomed to fail eventually, even though that's how things in pro football have developed for as long as any of us have been watching football.
Another thing I've noticed when people talk about the Redskins running the read option that seems to be overlooked is how often Griffin throws out of that play call. Most of the time when teams run (at least in the pros) it's strictly a run of some sort, but Griffin will only run out of it maybe two or three times a game (if that) and if he holds on to it, he's just using it as another variation of play action.
Sucks, we have a season. But apparently we need to be up against the wall about to be killed before we wake up. SO maybe its ok. I still rather be a Falcons fan wondering if we clinch the first seed this week or next.
