Default Miguel Pietrus expected to sign with The Raptors

The Toronto Raptors announced Friday they have signed free-agent guard-forward Mickael Pietrus (MY-kel PEE-trus).

Pietrus, 6-foot-6, 215 pounds, has shot .357 per cent (659-1846) from three-point range in his NBA career. He has connected at better than .350 per cent from beyond the arc in five of his past six seasons.

Can somebody explain me why are the Raptors worse than the last year? When they have better players this year.. and quite a lot of players that are better

They played 6 home games and 10 road games.

Also it's not easy to have a good record when you lose every close game.
List of close games Raptors lost this season (close games are the ones with less than 5 point difference and/or the ones that go into overtime):

vs Indiana - lost by 2
@ Dallas - lost by 5
vs Utah - lost by 7 in triple overtime
@ Charlotte - lost by 1
@ Detroit - lost by 1
vs San Antonio - lost by 5 in double overtime

If they won only half of those games they would now be 6-10 instead of 3-13.

I can't figure out. I'm not willing to use Lowry missing a bunch of games early in the season, and Fields being injured (Fields was a non-factor when he was healthy) as an excuse.

I thought we'd be at least 5-10 games better this year. Our defense has regressed. Not being able to close out games has been trade mark of this team for years now.

Pietrus is not really going to add anything. Yes, he's better than McGuire, but the dude is constantly injured. Meh on this signing. I would much rather see the sign some someone younger. There's gotta be some decent dude in the D-League worth a look right?

I'm kinda surprised Pietrus didn't wait for a contender to make an offer.

Sometimes they got robbed, sometimes the center of the opposite team hit a desperation 3 at the buzzer to force overtime, sometimes they lost very very close game, sometimes they sucked.
They tried to rob them even against indiana but refs couldn't get the job done.

This is pretty much it. I'm not saying we are a good team or that we should even be attempting to make the playoffs but our record makes us look a lot worse than we actually are. Although losing is losing, no matter how close the games actually are.
