I love Terry, but I have to admit, he is pretty dumb nowadays and makes horrible decisions. He'll hurt the Celtics in the Playoffs.

Doc under estimated Ray, he was basically pigeon holed into running around screens and just become a decoy at the end.

Spolestra to his credit, has given Ray the freedom to score off the dribble.

As the season progress, Ray will only get better off the dribble, this was a skill not utilised with Boston, and like any skill that's not used, it will improve over time, when you start to use it again.

Ray just looks like he's having the most fun out of there since the 09 season which was about the last season we really saw him used that much and where he was allowed ball control regularly. He plays more like the Sonics Ray Allen or the 08, 09 Celtics Ray Allen...looser, like he's just enjoying his time out there. That was most likely the primary reason he left to the Heat...they offered him a serious chance at a championship and a good time in the process when everything had turned so sour in Boston and just wasn't fun anymore.

BOS offered 2x the deal MIA offered him. Doc made a personal plea for Ray. BOS fans, a vast majority, really wanted Ray to return. You have provided no evidence of Boston fans underestimating Ray -- we all knew that he would do really well in MIA which is why we didn't want him to go there.

boston wanted him back no doubt but the 2x offer only came after miami was seriously in pursuit of ray and add in the fact that we had terry on board...ray was less enticed to come back...doc really didnt do anything for ray to come back as well...the only ppl that made a plea for ray to return were the fans and k.g but management only stepped it up when miami was looking like they would sign ray

personally I think if the C's gave ray a 3 yr deal then he would have stayed

Absolutely nailed it on the head here...although I would probably say this is more like the 09 ray allen on boston...the sonics ray allen was way better then any version of ray allen in boston off the dribble and was more explosive...the 09 version of ray allen was the last yr he could still handle it and create but he wasnt as quick or lethal as seattle ray allen...maybe because he had the ball in his hands constantly in seattle but seattle ray allen looked quicker, had a nice first step and was actually still deadly off the dribble...def agree with this assessment and would say its 09 ray allen for sure

Sharmer, all you seem to do is come on here and bash the Celtics. It's kind of weird really.

The main reason anyone thought Terry would be an upgrade was because he's an experienced 6th man, and Ray was bitching about playing it and hadn't adapted to it before he left. Of course, now he's fine with it...

Not really, I made up 30 posts today, on the Laker game thread, on why Lakers defense can't win a ring.

Regarding the Celtics, I feel Danny Ainge has made a lot of bad move trades and signing over the last few years. If they stay at 50%, their definitely making some moves before the trade deadline.

The Celtics offense under Doc, has been very stagnate over the last few years, just don't like the playbooks.

If they acquired Marcin Gortat ( Rumour) would be a big plus for the Celtics, however the Celtics don't have that much to give up, unless their going to put Bradley on the trading block.
