First of all...by definition, blacks in this country cannot be racists. The word racist is defined as a person/group that unwarrantly inflicts viles of hate or discrimination on a group of people based on race. Now tell me what have whites been through with any goup of people that would warrant a claim of racism? Think hard cause it's nothing there.

As a member of a minority group that has been exploited and targets of racism in this country, I must say, you're an idiot. You couldn't be more wrong. Racism is not limited to the institutional kind. You neglect individual accounts of racism. There is such thing as "reverse-racism" I hope you know.

Wow, you're so bound by your ignorance you've become blind. Tell me how blacks cannot be racist. If that's true, then as an Chinese-American, I can build the argument that other Chinese-Americans can't be racist either.

wang4inchesor3 don't argue with him. It is clear he either cannot handle outside opinions because he thinks his is correct, or he is being difficult on purpose.

Just need to look at his user name to see that he's either one or both.

Can't believe the ignorance in this thread...on both sides.Sad, really.

First off, if you're trying to draw parallels between 'whiteboy' and 'ni&#er' then you fail to see the history behind the word.Secondly, trying to claim atrocities(talking about what amounts to genocide) have been committed against whites on a huge scale on African soil?Let alone in the USA as recently as the 80's?Well you havent done the knowledge.

To pull some numbers out of your ass and say 40% of whites are racist?Come'on?!But you go further and say black people cant be racist?Sure they can.

Bottom line is this....good people are good people.I could care less if you're white, black ,asian, hispanic, whatever...I'm judging you as an individual by how you treat me and how you treat others.Simple.To have pre-concieved notions about an INDIVIDUALs character based on skin color....stupid.

Main Entry: rac·ism
Pronunciation: 'rA-"si-z&m also -"shi-
Function: noun
1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

...now tell me where does anything in that paragraph apply to black vs. white? Tell me? If anything, that definition right there has been the tide to the under current of this nations secret idealistic bigoted elitists Max-socialistic-classed views since the 1700's. You think that a class of people (blacks) can be raped, pillaged, and killed for 250 years and over the course of the next 60, everything just magically becomes honky-Dorey because of the implementation of affirmative action?

It's funny that alot of people on this board can write four and five eloquently-structured paragraphs on Shaq vs. Kobe, but yet, don't jump at the opportunity to help me redirected the misguided swoon that infests this great but faltered country's mindset to this day. What a shame.

What have you substantially contributed to this thread other than useless banter?

Here's a suggestion for you...until you state anything that's worthwhile, leave your judgmental and antagonistic attitude in any thread other than mine.

Okay dude, since you're ignorantly, but understandibly, having a hard time grasping my stance, let me help you out.

You're of Chinese descent, correct? Well, I'm black. Now, are you first or second or third generation Chinese-American? If you know that answer than you have one leg up on me (and 90% of other African-Americans) because I don't know anyone past my grandfather's and grandmother's generation. How do you think that happened? Do you think my grandparents were too busy to trace their family lineage? Or how about lazy? Which one do you think it was? Well, how about neither, because they were both direct descendants of what we call now-a-days "real slaves", homie.

Ponder that for a second. Neither one of my grandparents knew anyone other than their direct mother. So while you're sitting with your grandparent shooting the sh*t at the dinner table about how crazy and mean-spirited your great-great-great Aunt was in China, remember you are in a position of privilege which translates into power in this country. Cause if you know yourself then you can grow within yourself, my man. Some of us make it, but it takes time and patience for the rest of us. If America can't grasp that, then She should because she's the reason we're slacking, and that's real talk.

That is the biggest excuse for not succeeding in life. I understand that a lot of minorities in inner-urban ghettos are not put in a place to succeed because the public school systems are failing. I understand that a lot of times, minority applicants are overlooked when applying for jobs. But to blame failures on poor genetics or inability to trace family origins is a poor excuse. I might even say it's disgraceful to your ancestors, but I won't because quite frankly I'm not in a position to. Is it unfortunate? Yes, but certainly not to the extent you bring it.

I am a first generation Chinese, but I cannot link my family past my grandfather and grandmother neither. In fact, in reading my grandfather's memoirs, he couldn't tell you the names of his uncles or aunts. Hell, his recollection of his own mother is shady in his head. Why? Cause he was shipped to the army during the civil war and fled to Taiwan during the Cultural Revolution when Communism took over. Now, what makes us so different? Because your ancestors were subjected to institutional oppression America where my ancestors were subjected to oppression in China? Please, do not presume to know anything about who I am or what my family lineage is. I'd also make the point of you being ignorant to general world events. Throughout wold history, there is a lot oppression going on outside the US, which in this thread you've been ignorant about and narrow focused to what happened in the US.

Slavery was the worst form of institutional racism in this country. By far, but it isn't as if African-Americans were the only targets of racism in this country that somehow gives you the right to say that they can't be racist, no matter what. Many other ethnic groups have felt the same pressures. Have you heard of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882? Massacre at Rock Springs? Asiatic Exclusion League? Vincent Chin? In fact in many parts of the US during the 1880s Chinese-Americans were listed in the same ethnic groups as blacks. Treated the same way as if they were the same. But I won't sit in my seat cursing that because of them, I can't be who I want to be.

Look, I've been a target to racism all my life. By white, blacks, hispanics, groups as well as law enforcement. But, I'm not going to sit here and tell you because I've been subjected to racism so much that I can't be racist. Furthermore, I definitely will not say that it has retarded my personal success in life. But, to each his own. If you'd like to say you won't succeed cause your ancestors were slaves, go ahead, but I surely like to believe that your ancestors would rather have you take advantage of your freedom that they didn't have than to blame them and America for your position in life.

I react negatively to any of those terms used by anyone...

Its not isolated to America. You dont want to get an Englishman, Irish, Scott in the same room after a few drinks... It can get oogly quick.

She doesnt represent a whole group/race of people...

Just the "typical" race thread where no one wants to be accountable for an issue but yet they wishfully want it to just go away.

I'm not responsible for the rich ass **** that spouts her mouth off like a retard. Is the NAACP taking responsibility for 50 Cent and The Game? Didn't think so.

Get your head out of your ass and quit acting like all white people are racists that don't want to discuss racism. This topic has been done 1000 times before about race and nothing new is ever said. Same bull**** repeated. "White people are racist, blah blah blah." Then you have some conservative come in, "Black people need to .. blah blah blah.." No one cares anymore.

By the way, do you get mad when blacks say the n-word? Just wondering.

Racism is racism. If you assume someone can't be racist because of their skin, that's not reverse-racism; that's racism. According to Dictionary.com, racism is "discrimination or prejudice based on race." Prejudice meaning "any preconceived opinion or feeling, either favorable or unfavorable."

Quote:
"Whiteboy" can definitely be looked upon as a putdown the same way some Chinese are offended by the word "Chinaman".

It depends on the context. If it was an insult, yeah, I'd be mad. But hey, even white boys got to shout.
