Default So the Celtics need height and rebounding..

I like a trade for Josh Smith, Gortat or Jefferson, particularly Jefferson as he has played with the Celtics before and would be a great one two punch on offense with Garnett and would help Celtics out in the rebounding department. Jazz have one too many frontcourt players and Jefferson or Millsap seem the most likely to go.

If it comes to the worse, maybe offer something for Hamed Haddadi, buried on the bench has some height and talent, but is behind a strong backcourt at the Grizzlies...

Ainge needs to get the rebounding and height sorted before deadline or Celtics won't be contending.

Nope, Ainge will go cheap again and acquire the likes of Ericka Dampier heck he might even ask Ewing or Hakeem to come back from retirement

We all know Ainge, he doesn't have interests on signing quality big men, he'll always go cheap and sign old, injury prone, undersize big men.

His obsession on signing combo guards is disastrous already for the entire Cs organization that its already comes to the point that he forgot to sign a quality big man to replace Perkins. The only impressive signing that he have done for the Cs froncourt is signing a D-Leaguer in Stiemsma who's now having a scrub minutes in Minnesota.

Gortat would be nice.

We do seem to have a crap load of undersized powerforwards as well as a crap load of combo guards.

Celtics don't need size as much as people think.

Their problem in the playoffs is always offense, especially from the bench, and they have definitely addressed that.

Celtics don't give a shit about the regular season.

Gortat or Smith for Bass + filler I'd do, but I'm not gutting the team to get someone.

While I agree that Atlanta won't accept just Bass and fillers, the Celtics will have a hard time taking away Smith simply because the Hawks are playing well and will likely be in contention this year.

I'm thinking the Celtics would have to give up one of either Bradley or Green, even both to get Smith.

Celtics don't give a shit about the regular season.

It's hard to cover up an undersized frontcourt. Garnett is good and can play big minutes in the playoffs, but he needs help and also a guy to take some of the load from his older legs. And yes they did improve their bench, Green coming back from heart surgery and sullinger in the draft, so it really wasn't something they went out and improved through trade etc.

If Celtics acquire Gortat or Jefferson without giving up Green, bradley or any of the big three, I think they are favourites.

Well, they could lose him for nothing you know.

Bass, Bradley, Melo + a pick(s) ain't bad.

Jefferson would be tough due to salary. But Gortat is possible.

Hope your not calling AB a filler here...I love AB, I wouldn't trade him out essentially ever.

I'd trade Bass/Lee/1st rounder --> Gortat anyday though

AB is not a filler; you have to give something good to get back something good.

I dont think the numbers work though (to get Josh Smith); Lee would make them work.

I'd rather not trade Lee though becuase he's our only big guard.

I think Gortat could help alot. Gortat wants to be more involved in the suns offense(mentioned to Polish press) and that's exactly what he could help the Celtics with, not just now but certainly in the playoffs...

Yeah I agree, Celtics would have to give up green and bass + fillers for Jefferson which I dont think they want to do...

If Celtics pull that off, that is their best trade scenario IMO. Lee is expendable with Bradley coming back, Bass is undersized and while I like his game, he is needed to get Gortat.
