Default NYJ set Sanchez up for failure

Plaxico Burress? Sanchez's number 1 TD reciever last year LETS GET RID OF HIM FOR A RAW 2nd ROUND WR!

Sanchez's number 1 reciever Braylon Edwards? LETS GET RID OF HIM FOR SANTONIO HOLMES!

Sanchez with his best passer rating through the start of the first 3 games last year going 2-1 with the only loss being to a tough Oakland team on the road? LETS STOP AIRING THE BALL OUT AND GROUND AND POUND FOR 2 to 3 YARDS PER RUSH WITH GREENE!

Sanchez and Schotteinheimer leading the NFL in redzone completeions? Lets get rid of him for a coach known for settling for field goals

Sanchez needs a new WR? Lets sign a raw WR who is known for dropping balls all the time (including a TD pass that would have taken the lead in the 4th qtr against the Pats)

Ok so lets go back to ground and pounding the shit out of this ball since we dont trust Sanchez throwing anymore? Too bad Sanchez has a shit RB with no lateral movement no second gear cant run against good defenses.

AND LETS SIGN TIM TEBOW AND SPRINKLE IN WILDCAT PACKAGES EVERY 5 PLAYS AND LET HIS 250 LB ASS RUN UP THE MIDDLE FOR 1 to 2 YARD GAINS THUS PUTTING SANCHEZ IN EVEN MORE HARDER 3rd AND LONG SITUATIONS!

SUPERBOWL HERE WE COME! AND IF IT DOESNT WORK OUT LETS JUST DRAFT ANOTHER QB IN THE 1ST ROUND AND DO THE SAME OLD SHIT AGAIN

J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!

Burress was released because he told everyone and anyone who would listen he thought Sanchez sucked donkey balls. That's why he's not back. A lot of the rest you wrote i don't disagree with. The Jets main offensive upgrade needing linemen, receivers and backs was Tebow.

BTW, did i not say prior to the year that the Tebow "Wildcat" offense was Rex talkign shit and it wouldn't amount to anything? The Jet fans swallowed the Kool Aid and called me all kinds of names.

The offensive personnel sucks but Sanchez has been a major part of that suck. Bad receivers don't excuse 3-int games and butt-fumbles. You play the way he plays and you get benched. Ryan has given him way too many chances.

I don't disagree, they definitely need a new QB. But next year. No one on their roster (frightening as it is) gives them a better chance.

Do you remember Sanchez against NE? Indy? Where he actually made throws, where he made played ok? Maybe the Jets were wrong to think he'd improve and not to challenge him more. But to give him the Tebow distraction at the same time they made every other part of their offense worse didn't help much.

Where to start?

Sanchez was babied in his first two seasons.. He was surrounded with good talent on both sides of the ball and yet still sucked. One of the best running games in the league, a solid O-line at the time, good targets to throw to and a great defense. He was pretty much beyond awful his first year and he costed them numerous games that year, in fact if they had a competent QB they win 2-3 more games easily that year. The playoff run was a fluke for the most part as well.

The Jets needed Sanchez to step up last year and take that big step forward in his progression but he instead regressed. He doesn't have the qualities to lead an NFL offense as he has a poor stature in the pocket, too hesitant, and he overall has a below average arm. He's also a turnover machine and if he can cut his turnovers he'll be a game manager at best. He also has the body language of a prepubescent teen

Now people are whining that Tebow is putting pressure on him.. He's a god damn NFL player and it shows how mentally weak he is as a player. It's not like Tebow is even getting a chance as Sanchez is still the starter despite being one of the worst QB's in the league atm.. Every other player deals with competition and every other player gets benched but whats the deal with the Sanchize?

If Sanchez played good football there would be no one asking for Tebow.. Sanchez is playing terrible and the fans are justified in asking for Tebow or any other QB. I thought the move was great for the Jets because it would have either made or break Sanchez and showed his true potential. A good QB would have handled the competition and taken his game to the next level or atleast play well while a poor QB folds under the pressure...

Yeah babied his first two seasons but still was a big reason they won 4 playoff games. See Sanchez's passer rating in all 4 of those games. Top 5 all time in playoffs.

And he did take steps last year 32 touchdowns but yeah he sucks. He is a turnover machine I'll give you that

All I'm saying is give the Sanchize some actual help now offensively and he deff wont be the worst QB in the league. Even with his below average recieving crops last year who could barely get open he still threw for 26 TDS. Now he's throwing for the most raw inexperienced recieving crops in the entire NFL (its a proven fact).

You cant draft a guy 5th overall and not give him any damn offensive help. If it isn't Cumberland (who the **** is that?) dropping a game ball its Stephen Hill dropping a TD pass. Look at how good the Sanchez and Jeremy Kerley (slightly above average WR) connection is and that's one of Sanchez's only weapons now.

Don't call him Sanchize. He's not worthy of such a name. No one is who sprints into their lineman's ass and coughs it up on prime time television.

The problem with the "he gives them the best chance to win" argument is that they aren't winning. The record stinks, the offense is terrible and the quarterback gives up 3-TO games with regularity. Really, compare Sanchez to Tebow last year. Are his stats better? With Tebow the ball didn't move but at least the team held it long enough to punt. And in the event that Tebow exceeded Sanchez's at times historic awfulness? They aren't a playoff team anyway, at least they'd have higher picks. If not for the stupid extension they gave him for no good reason they'd be starting McElroy. Like a poker player that got called on a bluff and now just throws good chips after bad.

McElroy should be starting. He'll be much better at managing the game and not making mistakes. Sanchez always tries to do to much, and it backfires 95% of the time. I'd also say that McElroy is a more accurate passer.

Sanchez isn't our guy and it's blatantly obvious. Time for Rex and Tannenbaum to admit their mistake and move on. It's ****ing stupid that they're starting Sanchez against the Jaguars. Give McElroy a full game and see what he can do. Everyone knows Sanchez isn't the franchise QB they expected him to be, so what's the point of starting him at this point?

There aren't really that many options at QB for next season. Geno Smith is really the one guy worth taking in the draft imo and I really don't have any interest in any of the free agents. Rivers might be on the trading block if SD wants to clean house, and that's something that would at least be worth taking a look at.

His early success has bought him a lot of leeway. He was a clutch QB, but right now, he's part of a huge circus, and his game has regressed.

Right now, he's just another average/below average former USC quarterback. (Palmer, Cassell, Leinart, etc)
