Default Is Kobe still in his prime?

Certainly he's not at his peak but is he still on his prime?

Which other superstar has a prime lasting 13 seasons?

His prime ended after 09, since then there have been flashes/stretches of his prime play. I'm not sure what to make of current Kobe yet.

No not his prime but he certainly has longevity. Karl Malone and Kareem come to mind in that regard.

Of course. Kobe is the only player to approach the game with such a scientific method (the ultimate student of the game), that has allowed him to evolve and addapt himself as he phisically declines. The term "prime" doesn't apply to kobe, the term "god" does.

Yes this is still his prime, although not his peak. Dude's a beast.

I'm saying this, and I hate Kobe.

He could be. Arguably. He's having a career year percentage wise. Still averaging 28/5/5. But he's been consistant as hell his whole career and looks to be ageing much better than the stars from his era (Duncan as well). That's all i know.

Karl Malone's prime is roughly 13 years. 27.7PPG in 88 and 25.5 in 2000.

But I have to start realizing that Kobe's 00/01 season was 12 years ago, making then to now a 13year stretch. He's not fully in his prime then nor is he now, but it's close enough to consider it his prime, more or less. Tho Malone's was more of a straight line.

Karl Malone was at his peak at his 14th season when he was 34 it seems like.

Kobe isn't that good defensively anymore, but he is still great offensively. As much as a prime as Jordan was in his 2nd threepeat.

Kobe hasn't been in his prime since like 06-07 or so. That version of Kobe would embarrass current Kobe.

2006, 2007, 2003 ... hell even 2009 and 08 can probably eat current Kobe's food. But he's still in his decade + prime.

Prime Kobe: 2001-present
Athletic peak: 2003
Peak: 05-06 and 06-07 seasons

I don't think so. Maybe on defense (he took a bunch of breaks defensively, he could turn it on when he wants to back then) stamina, and getting fouled by either attacking or pump faking.

His 2008 season is where you had a nice balance of defense and scoring, and not a lot of force shots like his 06 season. It seemed like he was at his peak there with the balance. His 2009 season seemed like he was epic in the post and got good shots.

Current Kobe is better at shot selection, but they could water down as the season goes by. You can kind'a see it now.

His prime ended way back in 08 or 09. No way the Lakers are under .500 with 08 Kobe. Much better play-maker back then. Much better defender.
