Nothing from MJ shocked me. It might sound silly but by the time I started watching bball, MJ was so hyped up that I expected him to do the things he did whenever I watched.

The dream shake, however, shocked the hell out of me the first time.

Weird innit?

Thought of another one. I was born in '84, so I never really got to experience Magic Johnson's game live on a night to night basis. As such, when he returned in '96, I was ready. And when he broke out that ball fake on Sprewell, only then did I feel what so many must have felt when they first watched him pull off any of his previous highlights. There's something special and magical about watching it happen unexpectedly, and this one made me fall out of my chair: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cvWn6fH7Cg#t=1m19s

He traveled when his right foot touched down with the ball still in his right hand.

- It was an reverse layup from the outside the key.... ...Dominique Wilkins could d that in his sleep...

- JR Smith's 360 was way better..

- It was a great move...but come on.....standard by todays players.

All about perspective I guess, because I think he got the release off just before his foot touched the ground.

And, it was more than simply a "reverse layup". You really have to appreciate the nuances of the move. JR's 360 wasn't better, because JR's was pre-planned.. all one fluid motion that he intended to do. MJ made mid-air adjustments at the last second when he was at the peak of his jump. The body control demands are off the charts.

MJ's athleticism was definitely ahead of its time, so it measures up and , in some cases, surpasses standards by today's players.

I detect a bit of jealousy on Melo's part with his reaction, LOL.
